After a thoroughly enjoyable day at Leopardstown with some old and new TH faces, it would be good to meet-up at some stage, with any THers who are attending the Festival.

Myself, Digger and Frontrunner (and sometimes Maruco, when isn't poofing-off to Australia) can usually be found in The Plough in Prestbury, before racing each day (and often after racing too). Our usual hang-out at the track is the Mandarin Bar, where we've met Grey and Edgt on previous occasions - though I confess I'm not sure how accessible that is going to be during the renovation work.

Post here if you're interested in a gathering, and we can sort out logistics over the course of the next week. Watching the 'Handsome-Off' between an capall and Digger will be almost as compelling-viewing as the races themselves. :<3:

Please bring burds.

I will be there Tues/Weds and look forward to blending in. Me and Digger in a beauty contest is a bit like Douvan vs Serge L'Ami. Even Slim wouldn't price it up.

Lets get a bar name inside the course guys cos if I don't get in the car park early I wont get in at all. Will be in the Plough after racing as normal of course. Are we sure the Mandarin has gone . Could ask Gillespie I suppose

[/Good Morning Arthur,

Thank you for your email - I am pleased to tell you that the Mandarin Bar was not demolished and it will be open during The Festival.

Many thanks,

Michaela

Wrong side of town for me I'm afraid so I'll either be in the Landsdown - on the walk from the station into town - from 9:00 AM or may revert back to the Bays Hill Inn this year.

Can't believe that this is the first year I can remember that I've not gone. It's starting to hurt now. Are their still tickets for the Tuesday?

First year of going for me, Wednesday only mind
More than happy to meet some forumites

I'm not this year cos i'm off to Canada on the saturday for 2 weeks but i've broken and booked the Thurs/Fri afternoons off and now reading this i'm considering sacking work off altogether on the Thursday and heading over there!!!!!

2008 and I was missing my first festival in years as I was working in Boston. Spent the evening before the festival in the TRF chat room alone with some reprobate from Scotland feeling very sorry for myself.

I told them I had an emergency so had to fly back on the Wed night so I could at least go for the Friday. As luck would have it the Wednesday was called off so I had two bumper days :D

I know how you feel.
