First season sires and other 2-y-o stuff 2014

Fujiano Windsor 5.50 is worth keeping an eye on. She behaved like a complete idiot on her racecourse debut at Bath last time, getting rid of her jockey beforehand, swerving wildly right and giving away about half a furlong at the start but finishing really well to finish fourth.

Fujiano behaved a lot better this time but raced with the choke out and herr head to one side, still a work in progress, perhaps.

Today there are runners for ZEBEDEE (he's been a busy boy), HELLVELYN and ARCANO.

I see O'Brien has been talking up an unraced 2yo called John F Kennedy.

Quiz question: how many horses has O'Brien had directly or indirectly named after US presidents?

John F Kennedy, Roosevelt (technically 2!), Abraham Lincoln, President Lincoln, - and the only good one - George Washington. What have I missed?

O'Brien has some interesting runners at Naas this evening.

First season sires with runners today: MAKFI(2), ALFRED NOBEL(2), LORD SHANAKILL, SHOWCASING(2), RIP VAN WINKLE, LOPE DE VEGA and ZEBEDEE.

Good stuff.

The only other two I can think of are more indirect, namely Mount Rushmore (Galway maiden winner never seen again) and - even more tenuously - an unraced Sadler's Wells called Super Tuesday.

SHOWCASING had a winner at Naas yesterday. RIP VAN WINKLE probably should have had the winner of this but I didn't think it was the best ride by Joseph.

Today, runners for: STIMULATION, ZEBEDEE(3), VALE OF YORK, FAST COMPANY and PACO BOY(2).

Is Kodiac a regular sire of 2yo speedsters colin?
This is the first season I have followed the maidens and recently have been backing Kodiacs blind, I missed the 14/1 shot yesterday though
What else would you say are the best sire of juvenile speedsters?

He hasn't caught my eye that much, fonz, but as you will gather from this thread I concentrate on the first crops.

I feel sure that Kodiac has been a bit special this year.
