Just watched the replay. Smashing looking horse Kauto - loved his attitude - head down and genuine- you could have an awful lot of fun with him!!!

Kauto had just settled into his favourite massage chair, watching the replay for the fourth time, when the phone rang. A strangely familiar voice came on. "Ah, Mr Kauto? Good evening, sir. It is Saeed bin Suroor here. I have been asked if you are interested in selling... "

I had one of them for Monitor Closely for eye watering figures unfortunately the massage chair at the time was in overdrive and it scrambled my brain with the vibrations...

She hasn't posted here in a while, but some of you will be pleased to know that Spoons rode the winner of the opener at Chantilly today, a race for lady amateur riders.

Well done Kauto - another Dark Angel stikes :)

missed it all though as I just got back from Donington Park rock festival, where it rained all day :(

A big pat on the back and a roll of Polos to Spoons, Grey. Hope she loved the course as well as the victory.

Colin - ooh, a bit harsh there. I can understand Kauto most of the time.

Oh, that's a shame if she doesn't - I wasn't sure if you knew her well enough to pass on congrats, Grey, as that's got to have been a super day for her.

Just an update on my horses, been so busy lately , things sort of just keep building and expanding.

Stargazy - Suffered an injury to his near hind joint when struck into at Folkestone and has been off injured since. Still not totally sound and remains turned out for the foreseeable future. Would love to retire him, but he really doesn't enjoy doing nothing and he is not an easy ride and would not make a riding horse, so still in a state of limbo about what to do with him next, but he has been plagued with injury now for some time.

Know No Fear - Freddie done well last year winning 3 times and is currently turned out on holiday. He is a lovely natured horse and I would be very disappointed if he couldn't get in the winners enclosure this winter.

Kyncraighe - Mark my words, this is the best handicapped horse in my string and has had some work done on chips in his knee's and a breathing operation since he last run. Was just coming right before he had a break and he will be a certainty in a 0-50 in the new year over 7f - 8f. He works like a 70 horse and if his problems are in the past, he could well be one to follow this winter.

Resplendent Alpha - Grand old lad who is best at Lingfield. Gets himself too worked up for his own good and we are hoping the long break he has had will chill him out a bit. Rated 54 but he's better than that and hopefully he will prove effective around Lingfield this winter, he is another on a break.

Guildenstern - Really should have won on Saturday but was given far too much to do and it all happened too quickly. In absolutely great order at present and for an old lad, Jesus he can buck. He looks absolutely amazing at present and he is ready to win. Goes to Wolverhampton on Monday and he would have an excellent chance if he gets in.

Prohibition - Very exciting dual purpose horse who came to me recently from Gary Moore's. A very nice prospect who is only just stepping up in his work, but couldn't be happier with him and the break he has had has done him the world of good. I think he is attractively handicapped and whilst he could be on the track by the middle of July, he is one to note later in the year when he gets softer ground.

Evergreen Forest - A horse I got from Shadwell when he was named "Hawwaaz". I hated that name and changed it to Evergreen Forest. Initially trained in France he suffered a fractured fetlock joint behind and cost me a nominal fee. Has run some decent races, and has been freshened up since his last run as he has just started growing on us. Definitely races to be won with him and will get 10 - 12f when he has matured a bit. Given his leg issue he has just had his joints behind medicated and he is a horse I feel could do a job later in the season.

Diddums - Lovely little fella who is hard as nails and is a model of consistency. Just had 2 weeks in the field after a busy campaign and seems really well in himself still. He is a lovely horse with a great character and he gets on great with Katia Scallan. Up to 61 now but still gives the impression he will win again. He needs a strong pace and everything to fall right for him, but paying his way and is a bit of a lovable rogue.

Major Eradicator - Maurice done me a massive turn landing me the biggest bet of my life at Brighton two runs ago and really shouldn't have run at Ripon and he just ran flat. He is pure bone idle at home but in blinkers he thinks he's Pegasus ! One who is tricky to keep sound but I would be disappointed if he didn't have another win in him and likely to go hurdling now. He has done the job we wanted him to, but when you see him in heargear take note.

Clone Devil - I won't lie, I was absolutely gutted when he trailed in last at Goodwood as he had been working smartly with Aldo and Diddums at home and looked easily the best of the yards 3 2yo's. Has paid the price for that run by being gelded and just having his work stepped up again now. He is streets better than that last run and will have his sights significantly lowered next time, and I wouldn't write him off winning at a decent price next time out.

Air Lion - A typical sprinter who has an abundance of speed and despite having not run for 2 years, I feel he could just be alright. Had problems with his knees but that is all behind him and has just come to us and started full work. Won't be on the track for a while, but trust me when I say this lad is lightning fast and he is better than the form he showed for Robert Cowell.

Cuddly - Just taken her on and off to pick her up from Robert Cowell's on Thursday morning if she passes the vet. Willing to look beyond her rating and her mother achieved black type and was a good 70s rated handicapper, who was related to some fairly decent handicappers. She has surprisingly cost me a few quid for a 40 rated filly, but I saw her work a few times last season and she worked to around 80 at home. We will be patient with her, but she'll either be a nice bargain and turn into a useful handicapper, or I have made a major error !! Only time will tell.

Will also be looking to bring in 2 or 3 at the July Sales and high up on the shopping list is Falasteen and Sweet Origin who I'm prepared to spend a good few quid on.

Our syndicate horse Simpson Millar has been entered at Ripon next Wednesday evening and Carlisle Thursday afternoon - if he runs it will be his first race - very nervous and excited but unfortunately can't get the time off work to go up there :(

Simpsom Millar runs in the 7:20 Ripon - Noel Wilson says we are in good form and looking forward to a good show but it's a stiff race against some well seasoned horses.

I will have to have an e/way bet but just hoping he is competitive first time out and comes back in one piece.

I've also got a school meeting at 6pm that both parents have to attend, I told my daughter to tell the school she's from a single parent family
Seriously though I'll be watching the clock and planning the quickest route to the nearest betting shop to watch the race if time is tight. :ninja:

Rattle The Latch runs for Del Boy and I this evening in a maiden at Naas. This will be his second lifetime start and first this year after giving Recital a scare last year (got within 40 lengths of him :D). We hope for a couple of respectable runs in maidens before he goes handicapping.

The name comes form an old tradition in Kilkenny whereby each drinker was assigned a certain combination of rattles on the latch of the back door of a local pub when entry was required for a dew late drinks. I still have my code but use it all to infrequently lately!!:ninja:

Best of luck lads, like the pub story. We don`t have to rattle the latch on our pub as he stays open all the time. That one we bought at ffos Las last week is looking good but probably won`t run Mike Towey tomorrow
