Grand National

Thanks for pointing that out DG. I was looking to back a couple of those and had forgotten about the new rules.

A chance for "novices" to win this year with White Star Line and Double Seven.
I have the latter in ante post for NH 4 mile chase at Cheltenham.
Sunnyhillboy has to be on short list also after his hurdles win last fall.

National trial at Haydock this weekend.

I find Our Father appealing on this road to Aintree, with the respectable 7th in the Hennessy he may be one to keep an eye on if he ran here.

Tidal Bay and Long Run entered and even with Tidal Bay's 7lb "allowance", amazing to see 82 runners in the weights proper.

Top weight must have a chance but gutted to see Merry King needing so many to come out.

There must also be a chance that Ruby will ride Tidal Bay as Willie's fancied runners are all also owned by the Wylies .

National trial at Haydock this weekend.

I find Our Father appealing on this road to Aintree, with the respectable 7th in the Hennessy he may be one to keep an eye on if he ran here.
Has he been Pricewise(d)?:ninja:

40's with Coral for the National is tempting, but I've never picked the winner on day of race let alone months before. :)

They surely can't run Hunt Ball. T43 and Tidal the obvious ones. Nicholls states Rockey Creak will go Gold Cup rather than GN, and Tidal will not run in GC.

Any chance shakalakaboomboom will get in? Currently 66th. If he wins a race, does he get a penalty? Would that perhaps get him in? (Excuse my ignorance.)

backed t43 at 25s. nice weight. handled the track well last year.

tidal bay is good at 25s as well. mainly as he's bound to trade shorter on the day.

Can't offer anything at all original having skimmed this thread, but Teaforthree makes appeal, hope for slightly better ground as he didn't quite get home last year.

Burton Port is a must bet too if you can still get 50s. Wind op, crashed in weights and likely to have been campaigned all year with this in mind.

Martin Brassil verging on effusive when discussing Double Seven's National chance, and suggested he may come over for the 4-miler as a prep.

Frank Berry reckons it's between DS and Colbert Station for the McCoy mount (Carlingford Lough considered too young to run).

Lots of love in the market for Shakalakaboomboom since the weights came out.
