Grand Prix de Paris

Interesting David. Do Timeform actually have him running to 118 on the day, or winning without needing to reach that?

Cavalryman 118 (0), Age of Aquarius 115 (+5), Mastery 111 (+1) Freemantle 113 (-5), Wajir 110 (0). First five in Grand Prix de Paris, first figure is rating awarded on the day, bracketed figure is that rating in relation to their master rating going into the race.

Cheers. Makes a lot more sense than the RP having the likes of Mastery and Wajir suddenly improving massively.

I'd say Mastery improved a fair bit, although not so sure about Wajir.

118 or 119 for Cavalryman seems realistic. I wouldn't be surprised if the winner is subsequently capable of running to 120+ though.

On Timeform figures STS would have to give Cavalryman 15lb in a handicap (respectively 133 and 118). That's too much imo.

Massaging the books to creep closer to reality eh? Wouldn't that be pretty much exactly what we originally thought.
