Very poignant that he has gone so soon after his wife. As moehat says it is great that they achieved their dream of the Gold Cup.

I read somewhere that their daughter will continue with the horses - apologies if this has already been said.
 
Saw him last in public when Slate House won at HQ last month. Invested a serious amount of money into the game.

Presume Bryan Cooper will keep his affiliation with the family but that’s for another day.

I thought he looked very unwell after the Gold Cup -in hindsight the
ultimate vindication of owner power-he wanted Sizing Europe to
run in a Gold Cup and I'd imagine not getting his way ultimately poisoned the relationship with Henry.
If I was to say one good thing about him it's that he gave all the staff at HdB's a €500 voucher at Christmas 2015-this is the maximum you can give without tax coming into play.
 
I'm sure Lesley Dawn ran in The ownership of Alan & Ann Potts Limited two weeks ago-maybe he knew the end was near.
 
Surely he was in poor health but as said got the ultimate prize with what looked a two miler for so long.
For the number of horses they had in training the Potts had huge success, thanks in no small part to Henry de Bromhead.
Andrew Lynch and Jonathan Burke were unlucky to have the injuries they had when retained by the Potts, which cost them their retainer.
Rest in Peace.

It is not unprecedented - didn't Eric Moller do it and provided a fund for all those horses to run under the banner Mollers Racing for Geoff Wragg.
 
Edward O'Grady's wife Maria has died from injuries sustained following a fall whilst riding out in the hunting field.

I remember him interviewedon C4 at Epsom Derby in mid 1980s and he attended The Curragh also as a Budweiser guest .
 
The Marquesa de Moratalla - owner of King George winners The Fellow and (originally) First Gold, and Grande-Steep winners Ucello and Ubu has passed away, aged 87.

He also won the King George, Ardross.....wasn’t my intention to name all the races he’d won! :cool:
 
I remember she had a bumper horse with John Fowler that won 4 year old Bumper at Leopardstown Ladbroke Hurdle Day 1985 by High Line.
Pity there was no Festival Bumper those times because he was a machine; got killed over hurdles the following year i believe.
She had some real decent horses.
