Ipswich Murders?

Has it been definitely confirmed that all five victims were drugged?

I hope they find this animal, before he is allowed to strike again, and hurt another girl.

Evidently, the police now have a list of approximately 50 people they want to interview of which 5 of them they are particularly interested in talking to. It has also been revealed that one of the young ladies was approximately 12 weeks pregnant.

Considering they were all regular hard!! drug users, surely one of the the main targets for interviewing would have been their supplier...if they failed to pay up to him-them..........

just a thought....

I've just watched the daily update on BBC 24hr news and this question was asked twice by different journalist, as to where these people got the hard drugs from, answer was from variable suppliers????? seems strange to me that hard drugs are readily available like this and no clampdown ??

My reasoning if these women did not have this drug habit maybe and its only maybe that they might not have pursued a life such as this.......?

Thats a bit obvious isn't Merlin? Whatever their reasons...........do you REALLY think they wanted to work as they did ? :angy:

Well Dim without me having to tell you its the oldest trade on earth..... And NOT all of these people have taken drugs over the years, and no doubt there are some who to this very day are NOT drug takers that do the same job....So I would have thought myself.......

One can’t declare that just because they are in the profession that they ALL take drugs surely........ :P

Being a drug using prostitute was all they ever wanted to be  ...........c'mon Merlin it isn't rocket science. I bet they were all drug users first before they turned to the game to pay for their habit. I believe that has already been well documented by the Suffolk Police.

That is just a flippant view and I doubt you can prove that.

I am sorry DIM I don't agree with your reckoning DRUGS and by that I mean HARD DRUGS were never readily available lets say 25 yrs ago to be on the safe side but you still had prostitutes in every large town.....

If you read between the lines!!What I am saying were IF these women WERE given HARD DRUGS in order to bring cash to themselves and the PIMPS or was their earnings as such that they decided to go into taking drugs because they could afford them and liked the buzz?????

We have all heard about drug pushers giving children at school gates DRUGS and them then turning to a life of crime to pay for their habit, there was or have been a few cases here that I have heard of read about in the local rag.....

I presume it's the guy who was interviewed at length in an extremely strange piece in the Sunday Mirror yesterday

Highly unusual

A tad off topic, but according to today's Irish Independent, $10m worth of radioactive poison was used to kill that Russian guy. You'd have to suspect Roman Abramovich's accountant was involved in the budgeting for the hit.

Harriet Harman's contribution yesterday summarised her political skills and streetwise intelligence......

That's the one OK - Tom Stephens

Not surprising, that interview was bizarre, it seems to have been taken off their website now presumably as it is probably involved in the case

Takes trial by media to a new level - very Huntley-esque in agreeing to be interviewed.

That's exactly what I thought when I read it yesterday. It was very very odd indeed.

What i thought too...there is a psychological explanation for that

I saw interview yesterday and felt very very uneasy about it. Was astonished it was published

None of this is saying hes guilty of course, but there were strong hints over the weekend that plod was closing in fast

They have just played a tape of the interview The Sunday Mirror had with Tom Stephens. He really is weird. He seemed to break down and cry several times during the interview. He kept repeating how he was a sort of boyfriend of one of them, and how he liked to look after them and how he wasn't guilty and how the poloice had convisgated his mobile phones and his laptop. Assuming he is guilty, thank goodness he is now off the streets.

I live not far from Ipswich - to the West of the town, so c12-20 miles from the villages where the girls were found. Hintlesham isn't far tho - it's very chic and it's on my way to Ipswich. [Officially - in fact I spend most of my time in Lambourn or Newbury, and some in London]. Suffolk is a very strange place, very insular

I was amazed initially that a town like Ipswich could support "30 to 40" prostitutes - but it's very close to Felixstowe and Harwich which are major container ports so there's a constant transient population around, increasingly of foreigners inc Poles and Kosovans; it's also not far from Colchester which has a huge army barracks.

I think the Suffolk police have been a bit maligned by some on here. For one thing it's the most sparsely policed county in the country - ie in terms of ratio of police to population [info from local papers, council pamphlets etc]. They were obviously busy doing quite a bit of 'psychological profiling' which doesn't mean they weren't protecting the street girls - from what I hear you haven;t been able to move for plod, in the environs of Ipswich.

If Stevens is the killer, which looks likely, it would have been difficult to protect the girls from someone they obviously all trusted. Luckily his vanity seems to have betrayed him.

Can I just remind forumites of a principle all too often forgotten

INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY :angy:
