Hi Steve

I see where you are coming from, certainly a fair amount of stamina in the pedigree and you would think he would stay 14.6f. However, he covered the last 3f at Dundalk in 33.7 seconds, which off the gallop he set, is the sign of a well-above average animal and not one lacking in speed. He's still so far off the radar for the Derby in some quarters that Ladbrokes and Coral aren't quoting him, but at 25's, I'm gonna have to back him for my biggest result ever!

I think people take far too much notice what Ladbrokes quote and don't quote in their ante post lists. They usually only include horses running/winning the obvious trials etc. It would not influence me from having a bet that's for sure.

I like it.

Dodged a bullet with first winner-second time in 3 days I resisted the urge to lay a Ballydoyle odds on shot.
I don't like Sharestan in the 325 -having paid close attention to his wins at The Curragh he seems to have liked the opportunity to get going up the long straight.I'm no expert but I have to doubt if he will be as effective at Leopardstown.Lay and speculative place lay.

You owe both Murtagh and Jacob a large drink after this weekend. Well done.

Just saw Dabarasim-chronic ride.

Was at leop today, some heavy hitters in front of me agreed.
Murtagh got that sharestan beat.
O'briens in the last did't try an inch. Must have a plan for him he's only rated 94.
winner of the ballysax looked good, plenty of scope, ordinary pedigree.

Was in the Stewards box yesterday - Sharestan won off the rail last year and it looked like Murtagh had been told to go that route again so was just riding to orders. If he's come out with Famous Name when he travelled across he wouldn't have been boxed in.

Perhaps more a St Leger type than a Derby horse, Galileo/Darshaan cross. Loads of stamina, Dosage index well below 1 and and a negative centre of distribution. Classic staying material. Nevertheless, I've seen sillier 33/1 bets.

Good luck to you... don't get too carried away just yet. I'm sure you won't. I won't put you off a touch at these prices though.

Strange instructions for a horse with a bit in hand that appears to be pretty straight forward.

I would have left fire lily alone, she's a big filly and seemed to just get tired. Pretty conservative rating for light heavy, he won well and has scope.

I think that Light Heavy is a very ordinary looking horse. He is primed to within an inch of his life, this and the Derrinstown are probably his derbys. 16/1 for Epsom is a complete joke..

Murtagh had a nightmare yesterday between Sharestan and Royal Diamond. Getting 13lbs for Royal Diamond was criminal. What was he thinking..... What did he say to the trainer?? Ohh I forgot..he trains it himself..

I presume the original 93 rating for Bulbul was for winning her maiden but was not published because she was never entered in a handicap?

Andrew Tinkler was at Leopardstown yesterday-I'd say Murtagh is keen to impress him.
