Irish Guineas Weekend

No excuses for the Weld filly in the maiden. Disappointing run.

I've backed Trumpet Major in the Guineas. Can't get away from his run in last year's Champagne; loved the way he picked up on quick ground that day. Today's ground should be ideal.

The Oxx pair are the flies in the ointment.

I thought they were crazy to give DDL such a lead. Beautifully judged ride by JOB in the end but either a big step up by the second Foxtrot Romeo and Reply for their first time over a mile, or just not great form.

Would like to see Born To Sea over further next.

I'm sure he'll be at least as good as Roderic O'Connor turned out to be.

Both Roderic O'Connor and Power were Group 1 winning 2yos who finished second in the Dewhurst. What exactly is the surprise in the form book about them winning the Irish Guineas?

Well Done EC1 (spit).

Makes me wonder what Parish Hall would of done to this lot even if he run with a n injured leg.

Foxtrot Romeo no more than a Handicapper staying on strongly with two horses pulled up in the 2000 Guineas filling the placings and Hermival & Trumpet Major two of the major contenders in the 2000 Guineas finishing out of the frame by wide margins!

:lol::lol:

you really are a total misery Euro

I'm betting well, getting excellent prices (5/1 on a 5/2 shot there - with the trading on the Chester Cup I had 20s on Overturn) but the winners aren't going in. I never chase though so steam has to be released somewhere. If Hermival or the Aga horse had won it would have been easier to handle though.

Being the cynic that I am the first thing I said after the race was that Foxtrot Romeo renders the form useless. But I would say that wouldn't I!
