Irish Guineas Weekend

Foxtrot Romeoo is a stunning looking horse, who was probably just a bit weak last year. I would be cautious about writing the form off because of him, he may have strengthened into his frame and improved enormously as a result.

I'm betting well, getting excellent prices (5/1 on a 5/2 shot there - with the trading on the Chester Cup I had 20s on Overturn) but the winners aren't going in. I never chase though so steam has to be released somewhere. If Hermival or the Aga horse had won it would have been easier to handle though.

come on Euro..it'll turn round..it always does..this race isn't known for form working out anyway

Was thinking more along the lines of Colm giving it a whirl from the front to see if he can detach himself from the field

I found this comment interesting and decided that Colm and Seamie would go from the front .Unbelievably my 2.32 lay of Wrote was matched but betfair mobile froze when I was attempting to lay Daddy Long Legs at 1.55-any idea how low he went.

I think part of it is the amount of testing they do before they run their horses, in order to pick these things up as early as possible. I seem to remember him saying recently that his 2yos had had some kind of virus hence why so few of them had come out. Other trainers without the same resources might not find out until a race has made it obvious.

I really like backbench blues today, will love the ground and is working like a dream. Have had a right good win bet on it.

Newberry Hill is my steering job in the first.Powers are shortest at 7s but you can still get 20s on Betfair for modest money.I've had a few quid on.

My other opinions are 1) Crius could hit a flat spot in the Gallinule 2)Backbench Blues is a ridiculous price -only 3yo stepping up in distance by half a mile 3) Homec
oming Queen is a penalty kick and value at even money.Princess Sinead might get placed.4) Taigan is rubbish-be against him.

The mile and a half handicap looks a minefield of a race.

I've had a small interest in two of the more unexposed horses in the race, Certerach and Tantalising, at relatively big odds. Neither have particularly strong form, but both are almost totally unexposed over a mile and a half (Tantalising should thrive over further) and have shaped as if the step up in trip will bring about a fair deal of improvement, as their pedigrees suggest it should.

Be wary, Taigan was second last time out to the horse that has just run away with the Gallinaule.

Long time since I played a days racing so badly.Got involved with an obvious non jigger in the first, made a balls of laying Crius and left a 60/1 forecast behind.Got involved with the away meetings and then stupidly laid Famous Name for a place.
Thankfully I had the good sense to make 3 withdrawals since Friday otherwise I would be going on tilt in a big way.

I'm laying homecoming queen  as there's a doubt about her handling ground with firm in the description - btn 35L in 4 races with firm in the going.
