Irish Guineas Weekend

For some of us the morning glory days are over.

Unless he's on hidden performance enhancing tablets I cant see him running anywhere in the top 4.

Camelot apart, the Guineas' form looks pretty ordinary, and this'll be another poor race if one from that contest wins it.
All the talk is Parish Hall is using this as a Derby prep - imo, that's well wide of the mark. Though Jim Bolger said he'd be a Derby horse after the Dewhurst, Kevin Manning insisted he'd have the speed for a mile and he was duly trained for the Newmarket classic. Taken out because of the ground, he has no such problem today, and looks bound to be readier than many seem to think.
To my eyes, it's the Derby that's a secondary consideration (he's far from certain to stay 12f} and today's race the real target, and 9/2 against this mediocre bunch is too generous to be sniffed at.

Jim Bolger has ruled Parish Hall out of the Abu Dhabi Irish 2000 Guineas and the Investec Derby with a leg infection, Horse Racing Ireland have confirmed.

It is a pity Parish Hall is out, he had the fewest question marks against him. Everything in the race that is half decent has a negative against them, so I'm going for Power to bounce back from an awful run at Newmarket to win this.

Shame about Parish Hall being ruled out.

The word seems to be well and truly out about the Weld filly in the maiden as well.

Boyles have cut her but no money so far bar that - she was never going to be a massive price given the yard but you'd want to see some cash for her pre-race.

This is quite annoying.:( 11th hour announcements are Jim's trademark though (...we should have seen it coming).

Not sure what to do with the race now... I'm thinking one or other of the Oxx pair could be good enough. Born To Sea has a chance to redeem himself and I'm quite taken with Takar.

That's me definitely finished betting midweek on the big Saturday races. It's an absolute mugs game given the horse was 9/2 last night.

I thought the same when I took the early 6/1 Trumpet Major only for him to show bigger elsewhere. Quite happy now!

the 2.10 is a good race..still think Liberating is one of the best 2yo's seen..got her above cay verde on speed figures and can improve..infanta has ground + improvement to make up on L and looks a false fav to me

we'll test those times at Cork that day OTB;)

At the prices I have to be with Liberating also .,.

I have to say his upbeat bulletin during the week left me feeling very uneasy. It was the second time (aftet the Dewhurst win being the first) that he had seriously ramped the horse.
