Flemenstar 7/4
Sir Des Champs 7/4
Tidal Bay 4/1
Sizng Europe 6/1
Quito De La Roque 7/1

Quito De La Roque anyone?? 12's with Corals btw.

When is this race?

Given they dispute favouritism here, surprised how much disparity there is between Sir Des Champs and Flemenstar in the Gold Cup market. If he wins here, very hard to see them not going for the Gold Cup with Flemenstar.

Just to say Ladbrokes are actually 5/4 and 6/4 not 7/4 and 7/4 btw.

Given how heavy the track was at the weekend and with two days of rain forecast next week, I don't see How Flemenstar has any better chance of getting home than he had at Christmas.

This race could cut up really badly.

If Betfair is anything to go by the odds being offered on Sizing Europe and Bog Warrior indicate they wont run.

I wouldn't be confident Paul Nichols would risk running Tidal bay after his setback with Cheltenham so close another hard race might not be advisable. If he is a definite runner I must have missed it.

There's no doubt if this was a couple of furlongs shorter Flemenstar would be 1/3 to beat Sir Des Champs and maybe he should be anyway.

There's no secret about the fact they intend not to restrain him and to allow Flemenstar to bowl along like he did when racing over 2m4f.

Just watching him you wouldn't think that would make a lot of difference but a horse having the odd tug to go a bit faster could be burning up energy at a rate of knotts and you wouldn't know watching from the stands. It's very easy to confuse going well with impatience. We see horses finding nothing every day after thinking they were going to hack up.

I reckon they're right to go here and I think he'll hack up. He had everything easily beat in the Lexus until the very late stages and all it will take is for him to be allowed to travel at his natural cruising speed and he'll win a minute.

Flemenstar 7/4 looks the bet of the season to me.

Nicholls said today he won't run.
