While STD isn't great, the idea that CDO was somehow the moral winner of the race is ridiculous. It was suprising that he was so close three out but it wasn't just over the fences where he was struggling yesterday.

Interesting pfn saying Clan des obeaux got stuck behind horses going backwards. Those were my thoughts immediately after the race but that probably only happened because the horse was never going well enough

I don’t see it. He was clear in third with 4 furlongs still to go and not that badly positioned. The horse gave him nothing from there, though, and you can’t go like a Ferrari when you’ve just got an Austin 7 under you. Clan did lose plenty over the fences, but whether that was down to STD not setting him right I dunno. It probably helped tire him, though.

He isn't going to throw STD under a bus in an interview. No doubt plenty will have been said privately.

Well no but there are way of saying 'couldn't hold/get a position/always on back foot' , usual reasons and excuses rather than that!
