Leopardstown 2013

A nice value each way bet in the Lexus looks like Lyreen Legend.

The RSA form is rock solid, with Hadrian's Approach & Unioniste franking their placing's since that event.

The Jim Culloty trained Lord Windermere pulled half a dozen lengths clear in March, with Lyreen Legend missing out on the win in the last hundred yards.

My impression is Lord Windermere went into that race in better form, this showed at the business end. However, Lyreen Legend looks more progressive, or simply less exposed now than Lord Windermere.

When you think how highly his trainer rates Lord Windermere you have to reckon Lyreen Legend might not be too bad himself.

As still only a second season chaser with a doubt or two regarding the rest of the field, including the market leaders, I can't help thinking he's a cracking bet at the price.

Cannot wait for Solwhit's return to the track tomorrow - absolutely brilliant horse, and a thorough credit to his connections.

Ten years is a long time, granger, and I'm generally a fickle bas*tard.....but he'd be right up there.

think all of the main players in the lexus seem opposable. but where is the value? lord windermere?

maybe lyreen legend in this ground.....

Benefficient's race was run in just 2.5s over RP standard, which suggests there's little wrong with the ground - on the chase course, at least.

the times from the day before were also quick only over that particular distance..i don't think its an accurately measured distance...all the other race times from other distances on both days suggest completely different ground to the 2m1f one.

nearly every winner today & yesterday were previous winners on soft ground as well

Well, First Lieutenant is almost 8/1 on Betfair. The ground worries me though.
it's not a terrible price but there are negatives over ground and first two performances this season though.

it's probably a race i'll be swerving in all honesty.

Unioniste will love the ground though, no?

Honestly I fear my heart may be ruling my head a small bit with FL. I fear Unioniste a lot.

Unioniste hasn't the form to justify that sort of price. He won well last time out but was getting a chunk of weight from Wishfull Thinking who's rated in the mid 150s nowadays.

its improving but i'm not totally sold on that form with Wishful thinking tbh..i'd be wanting 10/1+ as has a good few lbs to find to trouble the main ones here
