With all due respect to Kempton and KGV1 chase the Lexus looks the race of the weekend.
2 recent Gold Cup winners, an unlucky runner up and a few aspirants .

Looking at the way Bobs Worth quickened last year and considering that NH says he has him ready -- would he come if he wasnt ?
7/2 looks fair to me -- a banker in a rather large jackpot !!

Im backing Boston but BW is my main worry
He's such a tough bugger you really do ignore him at your peril

There are some interesting aspects to BW's (re)appearance here.

1. It's his seasonal debut and I don't like seasonal debutants in heavy ground.
2. Why are they bringing him here for it? Couldn't they just have waited for Cheltenham or Newbury?
3. Geraghty and Fitzgerald are saying he seems at least as good as ever. If he is, the rest will be shiting themselves.
4. Does he act in heavy? They've always said he prefers better ground but Tom Segal says he now reckons he needs soft to minimise the effects of his jumping frailties.
5. If he is as good as they're saying, he might not have any jumping frailties to worry about, so soft ground might become an issue again.

With all that going on, does 7/2 appeal?

I see Road to Riches has winning form on soft/heavy ground. He looked very good at Down Royal last month, spread-eagling the field. 13/2 looks tasty enough for me.

Winner found plenty. OHO gamey but not helped by all these left handed tracks

I he did. How much further did OHO cover though.

Will have to watch that back again. Not quite sure what to make of that straight away.

To my eye, I cant remember a grade 1 3m chase at Leopardstown with a stronger run first 6f. Middle sections may have collapsed, something STW recognised on Sam Winner.

Great ride from Cooper.

Pleased with the result since I took 20/1 RTR for the GC after his last run and I'm a wee bit surprised he's still 12s in places after that. I was tempted to go in again but it was quite an unsatisfactory race. I liked that it offered evidence that RTR doesn't have to force it and since we know SW and OHO are strong stayers the fact he was able to take two lengths out of them on the short run-in showed he is strong enough at the business end in soft ground.

Despite the pace (more even than dawdling to these eyes) the result seems to stack up.

BW, I reckon, was doing a SOAV [versus Faugheen] - see how you go and take it from there. He looked to travel absolutely fine to me and I expect Geraghty or Henderson to say there was no point in beating him up first time out in that ground. I expect they'll be quite pleased with that outing.
