Looking ahead to the NH season 2015/2016 proper

Was 2010 really good ground?
It was absolutely lagging down that day, Kauto slid the length of a triple jumper when he fell.

yes it was soft by GC time..IC recorded a similar time to coneygree and the later 2m chase won by pigeon island was run in a similar time to next sensation..about same as this years ground by mid afternoon

this years official was..GOING: SOFT (Good to soft in places; 6.3)

and as i said..coneygree and the 2 mile handicap chase were run in similar times to 2010

mine equates,,..think you are forgetting that change in going by officials isn't exact science...by changing it throughout afternoon you know its getting worse

its simple really..if it was soft this year..then it was the same when IC won his and the later 2 m chase time confirms it

2011 on 18th, 2010 on 19th both times Good ground. Coneygree needs soft to even be present in the race.
If it was soft ground at Kempton they'd surely be tempted to run in the KG?
Anyone have statistics of what the grounds been like for the KG the past 10 or 20 years?

they're afraid of Vautour & co speed in the KG, plus the computer glitch prevented them to enter him so they won't run there regardless of ground. If it comes out soft/heavy maybe they'll pay the supplement fee but v. unlikely IMO.

Dunno that he needed his claims enhancing, Grass, and it's certainly difficult to see what more he could have achieved on what was basically a prep run?

True on all counts, reet.....I'm possibly being a bit parsimonious......I just have a natural aversion to going overboard about the first run of the season, in a poorly-contested event where he was miles clear on form.

That aside, you're right - you couldn't really have asked for more in the circumstances.

This is a contradiction. "They won't run there regardless of ground", but "if it comes out soft/heavy maybe they'll pay the supplement fee but v. unlikely. :)

Granted the past few renewals of the King George have been on Gd-St but I'd guess the GC is also usually run on that ground. We've not heard the last of Coneygree running in the King George, trust me. :)

Yes not being entered in the race means they won't run as it is, and I've mentioned that if it comes out sft/hvy then they might pay the supl. fee however very unlikely: We’ll have to go out with our begging bowl and try to get people to help us pay the supplement - Bradstock.. the ground in Ire is sure to be suitable, always soft in description for the Lexus which seems the ideal target.

Faugheen, Annie Power and Nichols Canyon among the eight entries for Sunday's Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown.

Nicolas Canyon could have seasonal reappearance in Fighting Fifth according to Ruby on RUK yesterday.

Would make for interesting viewing with Irving & My Tent Or Yours all targeting the same race.

Will be going to see the race, looking forward to it. If they make it an A/W track then I assume this will be the last running of the race at Gosforth.

Five runners for the Clonmel chase tomorrow. It's an inadequate trip for Roads To Riches but he has to start somewhere.

Anyone keen on Felix younger?

I'm hopeful Mallowney is just the type of handicapper to cause an upset. :)
