Looking ahead to the NH season 2015/2016 proper

Vautour not even considered for Betfair Chase then.

Good. I like they way the have a plan and are sticking to it.

Coneygree not getting involved in the KG fun

Mrs Bradstock has been doing alot of talking lately, she didn't fancy meeting up on the 26th ultimately

Kempton track all against him, if you ask me, so understandable. And all would be forgiven if they run him in the Hennessy, followed by the old Pillar at the Trials meeting.

Lets not forget WPM could supplement a horse for the Betfair up until Nov 16

Fair point DG but it looks unlikely. As it stands, if Jockey Club Racecourses hasn't yet paid the insurance premium on the Million bonus then they should consider keeping the money; perhaps they could use it reduce admission prices at the Festival to just astronomical levels! These are the horses who could win the bonus, wouldn't be backing any of them:

Thought Don Cossack had a chance but I see the trainer says he goes straight to the KG

Surprised and a bit disappointed to see that More Of That will be going over fences this season - would have been good to see him campaigned towards the World Hurdle again.

I'm delighted personally. Always looked a chaser to me. Huge scope. They can always go back over hurdles with him if it doesn't work out.

I'm a real fan of this horse. Form stacks up. I understand he had a breathing issue last year. Hopefully that doesn't become an ongoing issue as he could go right to the top. My fingers are crossed Monday goes well.

Vroum Vroum Mag is entered for the 2m4f Mares Chase at Clonmel next Thursday, and Road To Riches, Felix Yonger, First Lieutenant, Twinlight and Clarcam are among the entries for the Oil Chase.

Can't see how the track wouldn't suit Coneygree, they didn't see which way he went in the Feltham last year.

Last season's Feltham would have been more accurately called the Fell-Apart, Tiggers. All the conceivable dangers failed to complete, and I'm not convinced that the win necessarily proves he has a liking for the track. Physically, he reminds me of Denman, and his overall record suggests that he is very-well suited by courses where there is more emphasis on jumping and stamina.

Context is everything of course, and with Don Cossack and Vautour both in the race, I just have him as much more vulnerable at a track like Kempton, than I would at either Newbury or Cheltenham (the two courses he ran at after the Feltham).

Sara Bradstock is not ruling out supplementing Coneygree for the King George VI Chase after human error led to to the Cheltenham Gold Cup hero missing the first entry stage for the Boxing Day highlight. While dual winner Silviniaco Conti and Irish superstars Vautour and Don Cossack all featured among a stellar cast when entries for the Kempton showpiece were revealed on Wednesday, Coneygree was not on the list and Bradstock, wife and assistant to trainer Mark, has revealed his omission was down to a lack of computer skills.
Bradstock said: "I'm afraid we can't blame anyone but ourselves.
"Mark was doing the computer entries last week and I think he must have pushed the wrong button. As I keep telling people, we're good with horses, but not so good at IT!"
Coneygree is due to reappear in the 188Bet Future Stars Chase at Sandown on Sunday before a likely tilt at Newbury's Hennessy Gold Cup on November 28.
Should all go well on both starts, adding the eight-year-old to the King George field will be discussed, but Bradstock hinted conditions would need to be testing.
"As always we'll do what's best by the horse. He'll run on Sunday and then, all going well, he'll go to the Hennessy and then if we felt supplementing for the King George was the right thing to do, we'll do it," she said.
"It might not matter as if we're going to take on horses like Vautour, I think we'd want to do it when there is more of an emphasis on stamina.
"If it came up good ground at Kempton, we probably wouldn't go anyway, but if it's heavy and we thought it was right we could still do it.
"On the other hand we might look at the Lexus (Leopardstown, December 28) instead, or we might even be better giving him more time and looking at the Cotswold Chase at Cheltenham (January 30), so there are alternatives."

Sums it up about right. On soft ground he would have a chance. On better ground probably not. Though won't run anyway.

Though not sure I'd be aiming him here after the Hennessy.
