Not So Glorious Goodwood

Over the straight course It doesn't matter and over 7f I think the only races are generally small field affairs so it's not as much of an issue.

So to say it would be harder to make all or front run from a high draw over 8-10F in big field handicaps would be an accurate statement you think then?

Yes. It takes so much effort to get across and take the lead that a horse hasn't as much in the tank at the business end.

Had a look at the German Derby and they didn't go that fast early doors and Girolamo was held up towards the rear. He looks big at 5/1 for the Gordon even though Michelangelo will be a tough nut to crack. I think Noble Mission's form is pretty worthless. Nice spot LBM.

The sport is jam packed full of pussies. I would consider it a proud moment to have my horse run against Frankel even if I knew he would get trounced.

Can you expand on this please for thicko's like me. What do you mean by draw biased raced, and are other races over the same distance there biased, or is it because of how quickly they'll go with it being a top handicap.

I fancy a horse drawn high in the first race on Tuesday over a just under 10F, should I be backing it or what...I'm clueless with draw biases.

Little bit of additional info re:draw for the 10f race:

Draw 1-7 is fair (IV 1.1)
Draw 8-14 is poor (IV 0.76)
Draw 15-18 is good (IV 1.42)

So surprisingly very high is the best historically.

Caveat: Horses that lead are also better than average (IV 1.24), so probably a horse drawn low that likes the lead is good, or a horse drawn high that likes being held up is good.

Wow, nearly half eleven and no posts about this....maybe my original point is valid.

Frankel is my nap of the day.

Olympic Glory vs Ghurair vs Tha'Ir in the Vintage gave me a temporary flutter. I think the latter has a decent squeak, but I don't know enough to have a bet.

Educate me.

Bronze Angel hasn't got in the Betfred Mile. The amount of utter **** in that field is untrue - Mabait has no form over the last two years. I'm pretty devastated.

The sooner this flat season is over the better.

I largely agree with those sentiments Euro, its been hard hasn't it. You can still back Madam Macie though, good shout that one. I was sickened that Botti bottled it on Saturday. They don't give a **** about punters.

Bar, I gather you are Irish. Tell me about why Taafle is sending over his new recruit, owned by Coolmore associate Mrs Hay, Defence Of Duress, in the first. Can it win?:)

It finished third in a big handicap at the Royal Meeting. Look at the decs and feast your eyes on the sh1t at the bottom of the weights. Mabait, Sir Reginald, Mister Music.
