Not So Glorious Goodwood

Mawaqeet takes a big step up in class, but SMS often targets this race, so may well be up to it.
Should improve for the extra furlong and quicker ground, gets a favourable mention from Ryan Moore in his Betfair column, so 16/1 (i/4 odds - 4 places) is just too big, imo.

Anyone else think that Farrh is a bet purely on the basis that horses fail to run to form more often than once in 20 times or is just me throwing my dough away?

I think he'll be not that far away. Partly because Frankie will surely hold him up for a late run. And partly because I think Tom will ease Frankel at the end with his step up in trip in mind. I have had a tenner on Frahh at 18/1 as well. Excelebration was 5/1, 10/3 and 6/1 in his last three defeats against the great one. That suggests 18s on the Godolphin horse is a bit too big.

but Farhh is slow at the stalls sometimes

About Frankel
I dont think he will be at his best today and will not be pushed
so maybe winning only by 5 or 6 lengths

In my rage at Bronze Angel's balloting out of the Golden Mile I didn't notice that Trade Commissioner has been drawn 21 and Prince of Johanne 16. This will be a race to get stuck into now as those two can't win.

With his stride I'm not sure he can be eased down.

Frankel was very good once again, exactly what you would have expected.

By the way, these uncompetitive races seem to be surprisingly popular with punters, there was over £6.5m turnover on Betfair in the win market on this race.

Luke will be celebrating

Thanks Dave. I was on over 5.5! Whichor Gabriel or Bullet Train won the handicap?

Handsome looks the one here even with that Italian rat Dettori on lol.

Fancy Colour Vision tomorrow though. 3/1 when he should be around 7/4. He carries a penalty but so did Olympic Glory and I'm not sure Saddlers Rock will be at home on this track on ground that should be getting faster. The Mullins horse should be 8s.

He's a bit like Joseph O Brien. Yes, he'll ride winners when on something X amount of pounds better than the rest, but I'm afraid if R.Hills was still riding I think he'd come even further down down the list than him in terms of strength and knowing when to kick on. I know he's good for the sport, but don't back the fella with anything substantial and expect a highly professional and strong ride. You won't get that from Frankie these days. Its a young mans game, another couple of years and I think the old guard will be gone, or should move on anyway.

The only one I like tomorrow, though I won't be able to watch it is Hazel Lavery in the Lillie Langtry. Looks on the upgrade and C.Hills along with Varian and Balding are the only real trainers in my good books in terms of punting at present. Oh and of course Sir Henry aswell, get well soon Sir.

Fridays what I'm most looking forward to, especially Beyond Desire in the sprint for Roger Varian.

Mark Johnston, how does he do it in these big-field handicaps at the festivals?.......already had three in two days - Landman 12/1, Hurricane Higgins 14/1 and Sir Graham Wade 14/1.

Do you think these horses are laid out for these races? Does he know when his horses are going to win?
