Novice Chasers 2020 / 2021

We'll see how Monkfish has progressed tomorrow anyway.

I'd rather take him on with Shan Blue in the RSA than Envoi Allen in the Marsh.

But again, what do I know....

Horrible take. Envoi Allen's form is bombproof.

Indeed it is, I just want to take him on. Probably trying to be too clever rather than looking at the obvious. I just think some of the comparisons he’s drawing up atm are a bit too soon.

Be interesting what they do with him next year.

Biggest problem with laying horses or taking horses on is having something running for you. The novices don't look up to much this year bar the three potential superstars and they can all run in sperate races.

Indeed. When the only one I can find is Protektorat I should probably stop looking.

Take him on next year in the King George with Shishkin...

Like Hendo would allow that. Be some race though, for neither of them to pass Frodon :ninja:

Pretty sure the festival will be on (racing is an elite sport).
Horses may not be allowed to travel from other countries though?

My biggest fear at the minute. Got some real nice multiples going into Cheltenham, with Easysland from
France running through most of them.

Tricky one. Envoi Allen or Monkfish. Pick your poison. I'm not sure he'd want a extreme trip like the NHC.

Ted said on RTE today that Monkfish would eat him aive (The Big Getway). I'd assume Ruby has him well informed. All the sounds are that they all love the Monk, so he must be pretty special

That was ice cool from Townend, still felt that he had plenty of horse underneath him to see off Latest Exhibition.

Was pleased that Townend got him away from Foxy Jacks, because I was concerned with how far right he was jumping over his flights, and it seemed to inconvenience Monkfish at a few fences.

Lovely round that.

Willie said before racing that he wants to get more experience into him. Given how accomplished he was there he may change his mind now and mind him for March.

To my eyes, The Monk ran like a horse that would be better for the run. It was basically a school he had first time out, and they might not want to let him down before Cheltenham. He’s a big yoke that probably takes some getting fit, and a run at the DRF might be what he needs ahead of the Festival.

Mullins said afterwards that they have trained their horses differently for Limerick/Leopardstown. I think they are planning to have their horses in need of the DRF to get them to concert pitch. It is notable how many of WPMs needed the run this year - winner of the maiden yesterday, Big Getaway for instance. I do think their is a danger of horses trained hard for DRF can leave their festival behind them.

The further he went, the better he jumped!!

Townend and Mullins were pretty clear afterwards that they know they have the beating of Latest Exhibition and were happy for him to tackle him.

Is there a horse better than Latest Exhibition out there? I'm not sure there is.
