Novice Hurdlers 2012-13

Possible nightmare for me.
I have backed Champagne Fever heavily for the Neptune with a lesser amount on Pont Alexander. Also have both for any race. CF is due to run in the Deloitte next weekend.
PA looked comfortable today. Better over 3m perhaps! Please Mr Mullins. CF had been thought to be the better of the two so I understand. Where's the sweating or swearing emoticon?

they have Ballycasey for the 3 miles

Pont Alexnadre is the one for the Neptune , his main danger sould be rule The World

If it's a nightmare for you not sure what it is for me? Count yourself lucky at least you have Pont Alexandre for the Neptune. It all looked ominous from the moment Champagne Fever ran that shocker and Ballycasey was subsequently backed for the Albert Bartlett. I wouldn't trust Mullins at all but I don't expect Champagne Fever to be anywhere near Cheltenham in March.

As George Michael sang- Yov've got to have Faith. CF will @iss up in the Deloitte by 20 lengths and I'll be able to lay off 10% of my bets on Betfair.

Pont alexandre quite impressive,
The main sangre should be rule the world.
They should beat any english novice.

Mullins described Pont Alexandre as "maye the best novice we've had - apart from Hurricane Fly".

If it's true, he should be a steering job in the Neptune.

Very impressive from Pont Alexandre. I thought he looked to be wanting to hang right (jumped slightly out to the right as well) though, which would be enough to put me off backing him for the Neptune.

Think that was down to the strong headwind, that's what they said post race.

An outsider in the Supreme I'm quite fond of at a price is Pique Sous. 2nd in last years bumper Mullins has repeatedly said he's a good ground horse and has been put away for the winter with a spring campaign in mind. While I accept that he'll have to improve a lot from what he showed on his last few runs, it's very possible and getting 25/1 as a result. I like his attitide and he's got gears. Tracking him with interest and look forward to seeing him in the spring.

Entered at Dundalk this Friday. Preparations begin.

Plan is for Pont Alexandre go for Neptune and Ballycasey go for Albert Bartlett according to Willie tonight

I was quite surprised to see Rolling Ball beat Irish Saint the other day. I'm sure his connection were a bit surprised too that he manged to turn over the odds on fav so easily.

Much was made of the fact they had pulled well ahead of the rest and Rolling Ball is now favourite for the Triumph Hurdle.

The truth is one of the also rans wasn't off a yard and the rest were either useless or protecting their future handicap marks.

I am not convinced the bookies have got the betting right. Irish Saint wouldn't blow wind up Far West's backside IMO and while Nicky Henderson's charge is describes as a horse with a future I can't see him beating PN's horse.

In what turned out to be a 2 horse race I thought Far West showed that he has tons of ability and on his way to the very top.

I'm kicking myself for not taking the 10/1 that was available for so long.

I thought he got a little bit of a scare early on and was thinking a bit. He slowed a fair bit at one hurdle and Ruby has to chase him along for a bit and then did the same late on but on both occasion when asked for the effort he was quick to respond and was hard on the steel again within a dozen strides..

I reckon he's a bit special this horse, will win the Triumph easily and I could see him joining Persian War and Katchit and winning the Champion Hurdle next season.

I've been knocking at the door trying to find out where the hell Nicky Henderson's Tistory has been and at last some news has filtered back. Apparently he was slightly injured but is now back in training but whether he'll run over hurdles this season or not at this late stage is debatable.

I suppose he could go to Exeter then straight to the Festival but there could be an alternative.

Nicky messed up last season when he decided with the owner to miss the Champion Bumper and go to Ireland for theirs instead. The only problem was he neglected to check the rules which are not the same as they are in England. As far as Ireland is concerned the French bumper he won is not a bumper it's a flat race so he was chucked out on his backside. Must have been drinking too much of Oscar's whiskey:lol:

Unless there's some rule I don't know about (Highly possible) they could decide to go for the Champion Bumper this year but then Nicky hates the race so I suppose he could go for Aintree bumper?

Keeping my ear to the ground as he's got to go somewhere or he would have just roughed him off until next season and not brought him back in.

Apparently Electrolyser heads for the Supreme or Neptune (preference for the former). Not sure what tricky Nicky is thinking there after his debut at Taunton...

I would have been particularly surprised to see Rolling Ball do that - no less than 22 years after winning the Sun Alliance Chase !
