Novice Hurdlers 2016/17

Melon's form has taken a bit of a knock at Navan, with Broken Soul well-beaten by a horse that nearly came down at the first.

Never thought I'd see the day that a Pipe novice sans a prep would be fav for one of the big novice events at the Festival after King's Palace. Moon Racer surely will be now.

I thought he looked class but hardly cause a ripple for either Festival race. Can only assume he's staying home this time round

Charli Parcs turns out as planned for the Adonis 8/13.

Despite the bookies and despite Grassy's insistence he will run in the Supreme I am still not convinced.

The facts are only one 4 year old has won the race 1999 in 40 years and he went on to win the Champion Hurdle 2002

Nicky Henderson was forced to run Champion Hurdler Binocular in the race and he was beaten into 2nd.

No doubt Nicky wants to run in the Triumph..why would he want to try and do something so many have failed to do?

Even Sprinter Sacre found the Supreme too much for his immature frame as a 5 years old.

Nicky sort of dropped a hint the other day when he said publicly he wouldn't rate him as highly as he did Altior 1st at this stage but he would put him on a par with Bouvuer D'air 3rd

Wake up JP he's trying to tell you something:cool:

And JP might just have a solid contender now, in an open year for the supreme, with movewiththetimes. I'm praying you are right Tanlic as I'm invested in CP now for the Triumph without NRNB concession [emoji16]

Tanlic, I'm not saying Charli Parcs will run in the Supreme......I'm saying he should run in the Supreme, because Defi won't be beaten in the Triumph.

I happen to agree with DH, in that Movewiththetimes has a good chance in the Supreme, and that might well influence where CP runs. FWIW, I have all three covered in the Supreme (Defi only to cover Triumph stakes) - all three backed at 12/1.

Now we have Soldier in Action staking a late claim.

Funny I seem to remember before he went to Musselburgh 6 gallops short of a canter Nicky saying they were going to take it easy with him as he will be going back to MJ's at the end of the season.

Nico rode him today flat to the boards. like they had the kitchen sink on or he was late for a wedding

I'd run CP in the supreme.

You just love winding me up  6 and half a dozen to me as I have backed him for both in singles and doubles with Petite Mouchoir.
That's the little grey horse I tipped you off about that is going to win the Champion Hurdle but it's our secret:cool:

Neon Wolf is 10's NRNB with Boyles for the Supreme which is tempting me. If it's a dry week it'll never be softer than the 1st race on Tuesday and he'll appreciate the frenetic pace of the Supreme. I'd fear for him in the Neptune which is usually a more tactical affair.

If Evening Hush stands her ground this weekend we should get an idea of which JP juvenile is in the ascendency.
