Punchestown 2012

I wish I could find it online. He basically said that the public wants to see Quvega take on Big Buck's and her stablemate (Hurricane Fly). 'Why should she?' said Ruby, Hall replies 'it would be a great race'. Ruby said 'why go for a race you won't be favourite', Hall replies 'it's too easy for her Ruby'.

It was a top class from Hall. A lesser interviewer would have shirked and kept Ruby sweet.

The same question was put to Ruby on ATR a few minutes later, so he was probably more prepared for it. If I understood him correctly he said Big Buck's is Big Buck's, and that the handicapper(s) have got it right.

There is a difference of 16 lbs between them at present (174 v 158). The mares' allowance of 7lbs reduces that gap to 9lbs. A further reduction of a few lbs might also be appropriate to take account of the difference in handicap marks between Ireland and the UK, but Big Buck's would still be perhaps 5 or 6lbs clear.

The 11/8 Zaidpour W/O hurricane Fly has been smashed up. I'd suggest the yard expect him to beat Thousand Stars comfortably.

With only one opponent from outside the yard, and a 40/1 outsider at that, they ought to know :ninja:

You obviously didn't read the Gigginstown thread on here the other day. It made great reference to how their horses always run straight. Why would you be against him with a dodgy jumper who finally won on good ground?

Il be backing lucky William and rebel fitz both ew and in an ew double. Also backed pearl blue in the 5.00 donc, and combined all three in a trixie. Simple really...

Trip, ground, trainer... you have been right more than wrong today though which worries me

Mine for a change...5/1, 4/1 up, waiting on rebel fitz for a months wages....

Good things sometimes happen to bad people...that's my only hope....

What would you do with a month wages? I want to decide whether I'm going to cheer this home for you?

I am having a massive blow out next weekend, finishing college for good, and it's a bank holiday, the rest will be put in my fund for belamodena....to be spent wisely on all things wholesome.

Ruby saying he ran as flat as he did at Cheltenham....had to be a good horse to win when feeling so lethargic

I did winning distance betting in work. I guessed 2.5 lengths for Hurricane Fly. I laid over 2.5 at 7/4, 11/8, 11/10, 9/10 and at that the death 8/11. Why couldn't I just have gone 3.5 lengths...

34.35 today, 147.6 so far, 31.9 required & we've 2 days to go (hopefully) and we've missed 6 races already.

Favs another 65 today, 220 to date.

14L & 55pts today.

Totals to date of 161.6 & 275, with totals required of +179.5 & +365, I don't know what the outcome will be re the 9 abandoned races.
