Very glad I downed betting tools after Outlander pulled up the other day. I love watching this Festival but it's a massive no no from a punting perspective. I'd have been destroyed today if i'd tucked in.
had 2 bets all week. labaik on tuesday with victors money back concession and great field yesterday. i have the same viewpoint with aintree as well. it's almost entirely a watching brief.Very glad I downed betting tools after Outlander pulled up the other day. I'm a little taken aback how many horses are being turned out multiple times within a month on both sides of the Irish Sea. We go 5 months of the NH season with small fields every Saturday and trainers withdrawing them last minute for a plethora of reasons but when there's a trainers title on the line all that goes out of the window.
Every effort is made within the sport to promote the lengths they go to in the name of animal welfare yet the actions of some trainers in the last few weeks gives the impression that greed comes above all that. Fine, if the animal can take it's racing but don't spout all this **** through the rest of the season why they're not running.
Part of the problem is the way the NH season is so weighted towards March & April and that needs addressing but it leaves a sour taste in the mouth when you see Runfordave dying in front of your eyes purely because the trainer is desperately chasing prize money.

Much as I wanted Gordon Elliott to win the trainer's title, you have to hand it to WPM, winning the title after losing 60 of the Gigginstown horses is some feat. Love to be a fly on the wall at Gigginstown HQ when they have their end of season discussions what with this and thirteen horses in the Irish National with none of them in the first three.
“It is completely up to Willie Mullins. Our door is always open. It was Willie’s call to let go of the horses and it’s Willie’s call if he wants them back,” he said (Michael O'Leary)
“There is no problem and we have no issue. We have always left the door open and it’s still open.”
I posted up Menorah, Apple Jade and L,Ami Serge which if anyone is interested is what this game is all about...........Fook wpm when's the last time he pinpointed a winner?
Great coverage from RTE, which I've never come across before. And HD as well.
