Road to the 2025 Champion Hurdle

Bit worries about what Michael Buckley said tin the Racing Post "warned his superstar hurdler would not be at his best when returning from a year off on Thursday"

The Racing Post website is a Joke...says 8 entered but.when you click next only 4 runners show up. they have Nick jocked up on Constitution Hill but no sign of Sir Gino or Lossiemouth...worse site ever

The RP has got carried away by Lossiemouth beating Teahupoo in a sprint but they’re not the only ones.
Constitution Hill won’t need to be anywhere near his best to beat her IMO

Can never understand why not better supported - there’s £14,000 for 3rd and £7,000 for 4th so the two outsiders are going to get enough appearance money to keep their nose bags filled for a bit. There was even getting on for £4,000 for 5th.

The race at least will let us see what's under the bonnet and all the shadow boxing can end. I suspect we will know 2 out c hills fate. Has the istabraaq vibes to me but time will tell. Until they run nobody knows.

love to be a fly on the wall in Seven Barrows. Nicky has given himself the best chance possible of adding coin to his counting house. What he really thinks his chances are of winning both matches only he knows.

Like the rest of us I have my opinion and I just can't see Constitution Hill having lost his ability after 100 days more than the norm is really is not that much of a break. When Nico turns on the turbo turning for home Lossiemouth won't know what has hit her. Remember we are talking about a horse that most said was better than the mighty Night Nurse and Istabraq..She has beaten nothing of note like many others they can all look like champions against trees

I can't see Nicky having sent him unless he is very close to his best and close for me will be good enough.

FOOTNOTE:"His last gallop on Saturday was excellent. Nico came in and jumped five hurdles on him this morning, and he was as good as ever. It’s good to watch, but it’s also a bit frightening, and I could not be happier." Nicholas J. Henderson

I really, really, hope he is inline with his best that we have seen previously. He has captured so many in the sport and I do feel horses like him are SO important for horse racing.

I like Lossiemouth as a mare, but I would love to see CH absolutely tear them apart on Thursday.

Very surprised by the positivity for CH here. Lossie for me and CH in March. On the ratings she only has 8lb to find and considering her race fitness that seems well doable.

If Nicky has got it right and he's the best he's ever looked fitness won't be an issue.
It's not hard to accept a rating of 175 for Constitution Hill. Considering he absolutely slaughtered State Man rated 169. I would question the 4lb hike Lossiemouth was given for beating Teehupoo in a crawl. I would have left her on 156. Allowing her 7lbs she still has 12lbs to find imo. Nothing is impossible but her beating him comes damn close to it

I fully expect a great meeting for Seven Barrows with Constitution Hill winning the Christmas Hurdle and I can't see Ballyburn coping with Sir Gino who has speed to burn

That's my point,Fist - CH has never been seriously tested,so it's anybody's guess how good he is.
Lossiemoouth, she's never beaten anything the calibre of State Mann,so has a mountain to climb to even threaten the best hurdler we have seen in years.

If you read what Nicky said on his Unibet blog today you would be lumping onto Lossiemouth...hope he is just making an excuse incase he does lose...lots of trainers do this before a big test. Despite this the money has come for Constitution Hill with most bookies and Betfair he is clear favourite...early doors yet though

Let's all try to enjoy this race whatever happens.

For myself, it's a bit too experimental, in terms of seeing Connie back on the track, to be taking a betting position with him or against him.

But each to their own.

I hope he wins tomorrow.
