Road to the Gold Cup 2020

The media has overblown PT being number one jockey too much today

ABP a better horse this year than last.

Enjoyable race. 2 big leaps won it for him

Cracking race. You knew the winner would go close again.
Santini needed more pace in the race.
LIT came to win and got to the front but the trip was always the doubt.

think a pretty slowly run race may have helped him but tizzard's have ran terrible this week and he had no decent prep but has ran a stormer. still a fairly young horse so hopefully he's back with a better prep next year.

Santini got checked a couple of times so did incredibly well to get so close at the finish as he doesn’t do anything quickly.

Yes whereas Santini wasn't helped by the pace LIT certainly was. Gave him a chance to get home. Better ground and he may have won.
Just not sure I can see LIT winning one but would love to be wrong.

I was never really happy with the way Santini was travelling through the race. He seemed not to like jumping between horses and I was muttering that NdB should send him on and grab the rail long before he did. He then ended up between horses again going to the last and looked to me not to give it everything, then he lost a little momentum checking and switching after the last and was closing the winner down all the way to the line. Still learning, I reckon. It will be interesting to hear what Hendo thinks of it.

They could of made more use of him in hindsight. Even at the last, he didn't attack the fence liked the winner did.

That switch after the last cost Santini more than the neck he was beaten. Stronger pace for sure would help too. All credit to the winner though.
