Royal Ascot 2022

Wed
Nahanni 3.05.
Gave the whole field a start in the Derby, and was still out the back turning in, but still managed to finish 7th.
Lots of unexposed horses in tomorrow's field, but none come close on form.
Stiff track and extra 2f all in his favour, and I have him the strongest bet of the meeting,so far.
9/2 Betfair.
Ran like a pig & probably needs gelding.

3.40 - Bay Bridge (11/8) was very impressive at Sandown but I’m not convinced he was beating fit rivals and the time was nothing special. He’s the most likely winner but I don’t like the price and Lord North (7/1) strikes me as being overpriced. I’m not sure he can beat the favourite but I fancy him to beat the rest so the market without Bay Bridge may be the way to go.

When your luck's out your luck's out.

Never in a million years would I have foreseen Lord North using the race as an audition for a Hamlet cigar advert. Arguably cost it the race but since it went off at 9/2 the market at least corrected itself. It will be interesting to hear what Gosden says. I thought the jockey on the winner was brilliant; rode them to shame.

We move on...

I said I was ill prepared, it’s all one way traffic from me to the bookies satchels so far.

William Buick gets back on board Saffron Beach who carries a 5lb penalty but back among her own sex she can go very close here.

Siblia Spain may have had this for her target for some time and I'm sure the owners would love to see her win at Royal Ascot
Under normal cicumstances at another course I doubt if she would be here.
She took forever to get there and win a Group2 at St Cloud on Good to Soft I doubt very much she's appreciate this much faster surface against much better horses.

Hard to say how Bashkirova will handle the course but if she takes to it she could peg back Saffron Beach but I'll put my trust in William Buick to keep enough in reserve to win this.

Yet another winner for the brilliant William Buick:)

Well done, Tan.

I will keep Sibila Spain on my side for another day on good or firmer ground over 1 mile.

I reckon there'll be another day for her.

Aye, and Primo Bacio 3rd at 14/1 should have been nice except for Sibila Spain playing up to be withdrawn. Bggr.

She was in there a long time waiting for the German horse

They went off at 4.23 the race was due off 4.20.

Sibila Spain only withdrawn 30 seconds before the off.

Homeless Songs if not already mentioned not declared. Shame although the ground clearly would not have suited. I was looking forward to seeing her too.

Good day for me so far
Dramatised plus Maylandsea ew
Eldar plus Hafit ew
Bombed the next on the Jap horse
Saffron purely on how good she looked at the start....did well with that penalty too.

Got my pin out for the Hunt Cup!

Thanks Marb but I think you need to rethink that one......The horse needs some cut in ground and was only here because it was along term plan.

Woudn't have gotten near the winner hope you got your money back.

No you are wrong the trainer said before the off the horse would be fine on it and I was actually expecting improvement on it today.

Hard to say a horse won't handle good to firm ground when she has never ran on it and has won on good and good to soft in career so far.

I think some very good horses actually go any ground and she will turn out to be one.

You got lucky well done.

The Aidan O@Brien horses are running pure ****. Everything is well below it's best.

Everything that wins a two bit race in Ireland gets hyped so it's hard to know what's what.

The one I have been waiting for is Little Big Bear who does look the real deal but the price is nuts for want of better word.

The bigger the field the bigger the certainty they say.......soon find out:D

Well done. He’s better than the winning margin. Seriously lovely horse.

I'm lucky? Your horse was supplemented for the Diane last year
and her trainers words were" The only question mark against her would be the (possible) good to firm ground"

The ground was on the fast side of good and she hated it finishing 4th.....as I said the only reason they wanted to run her today was because it's Royal Ascot but she has more sense than them and sat down and said no way:lol:.

She actually wasn't beaten that far in the Diane (Had to correct myself there) but she was going better than anything until he jockey really asked her the question and she didn't stride out like you would expect.
as a result she got swamped in the closing stage in a race she would have won IMO had there been some cut in the ground

I bet him at 6/1 ante post for the Norfolk which sums up the week I'm having.

Can't say I blame them for going the route they have gone It would have been some race but Wallbank is one very serious beast.....

He looks an absolte certainty if the Antartic is all he has to beat and should be in the ODDS on thread IMO.
