Sandown Coral Eclipse

Bay Bridge was behind the Japanese horse at Ascot who I'm assuming they thought would carry them in to the race needing a test. Strange ride on that horse under those fractions. Option for Moore to come 3 wide or the belief his horse would just win!

The POW wasn't run to suit a horse needing a stiffer test, and it's the quality of RM's ride that needs questioning; he's no fool and there has to be a reason for it?
They were certainly unsure about faster ground for the horse and maybe didn't want a hard race in view of that?
SMS is known for his patience, and it wouldn't surprise if he swerved this Saturday, imo.

He 100% runs. Connections said so yesterday.

That's a red herring. The difference with State of Rest from the Curragh to Ascot was the quality of the ride. Night and day.

The Curragh race is a far stiffer test as well. I don't think he'll have the gears to win this.

We'll see. Looking forward to this. Yes Alenquer does need to improve and I reckon he will.

Mouth watering race and probably best watched. If (and it’s a big if) the Gosdens have got Mishriff back firing on all four then he will be hard to beat.

Visually impressive in the French Derby.

That's often enough for some observers.

For me, it underlines the importance of asking - and trying to work out the answer to - the obvious question, "What did it beat?"

When the answer is "fvck all" there's often value in opposing it.

Same with Westover the other day. Beat fvck all and will be bad value next time.

Can anyone tell me what entitles Vadeni to be 2/1?

Because I said it will win:)....ask a silly question!:

Modern Games went there seeking a 5th win on the trot, the last 2 wins being in group 1's and this horse
left him and the rest for dead in a matter of strides without as much as turning a hair...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hBXciP8pZ4 if that does not impress you you shouldn't be punting

Alternatively you can listen to DO who is next to Marb is the best judge I have come across in decades:whistle:

Buick used too much energy early doors getting Modern Games in front from a wide draw. It wasn't his true running.

Begs the question, "what did Desert Crown beat?" and so on.

It's a natural skill I was born with. I was gambling when I was in nappies.

By the time I was four I was reading the Racing Post. :)

I just can't see it. 2/1 against Group 1 horses.

Modern Games finished exactly the same distance in front of Lassaut as he did in the Poule d'Essai des Poulains!

It was a group 1 race with the 2nd and 3rd having won Group 1 races
but it's the marked improvement he made on aline through Machete and how easily he did it that catches the eye,

Modern Games perhaps had the right to be collared by El Bodegon having used up some energy coming across them at the start

But Vadeni didn't just collar him he anhialated him and the rest.

Don't care. Modern Games was badly drawn and had to be bustled up to lead using energy up. This is not optimal and so he ran below form.

... which is what I was asking at the time.

You study the form and come up with an evaluation of it. If the evaluation is any good you do okay. If not you're donald-ducked.

But you won't be right all the time and a bad judge won't be wrong all the time.

My Great Grandma just read what you wrote to me....you trying to be funny?

I'm naturally funny, Fist.

I'm even told I'm at my most funniest when I'm not really trying to be funny, which obviously means I'm really really funny.

Who needs Russell Brand when you got me. :)
