The 2000 Guineas (and beyond)

I'll say

ZebraHorseEPA_600x517.jpg

Anyone think that Jim Bolger's Shintoh could feature he's a horse that i was following and backed on his two starts lightly race could have a nice 3yr old campaign ahead of him

Also said that Steinbeck was definatly in the Guineas picture, will both SNA and Steinbeck go for the Guineas?

No, but I suggest it looking at it from a commercial operation point of view. Coolmore I imagine would be very keen on having a horse that has done the guineas/derby double to compete with Sea the Stars at stud. They would also love to get a classic win with one of their newer stallions in Footprintsinthesand (Steinbeck). So looking at it like that i'm pretty sure the two of them wont be racing against each other. With Steinbeck probably the more fragile of the two horses after last year why not give him a bit more time and get him cherry ripe for the Irish and take SNA and supporting cast over to Newmarket.
I may be competely wrong but I just have a hunch that's how it will all pan out.

Steinbeck is certain to go to Newmarket imo....its just a matter of if SNA joins him or not after his spring work.

Thanks chaps, i only ask as there seems to be a few people suggesting Steinbeck will miss the English 2000G.

Guineas entries are out this week and for those counting down the days to the Tuesday at Cheltenham there will be others looking forward to the same day but for different reasons - first day of The Curragh closes then too!

Given O'Brien's recent tactics in the classics it would not surprise me if Steinbeck, St Nicholas Abbey, Fencing Master, Beethoven and maybe even Alfred Nobel lined up. If only one lines up I suggest smashing into it accordingly.

He's not going to have that many in the 2000 guineas three is the max i'd say.He also has the Irish and French 2000 and all the prep races for the Derby

I agree. Max of 3 in the Guineas then he will just flood the Derby with many horses as he seems to do that every year now

He is going to try and win the French Derby aswell because Coolmore is kind of expanding and they've already placed one horse over there so a French Derby could possibly be on the cards thats the way i would look at it.

I heard a rumour that Steinbeck wasn't going to be ready in time?

Be livid if this is the case....

He had a stable tour only a few weeks ago and no mention of it then.

As I say, only a rumour I've heard via different firms, hopefully it's bollocks as he hasn't drifted in the betting.

Surely has to be an Aidan O'Brien horse on account of what has been seen so far. The question would be which ones would he run where?
