The Dewhurst

The 2007 group of two year olds were probably much worse than this year. Henrythenavigator was the only decent one from that crop, and his 2yo season ended early.

He probably did not like the ground in his last also but it says a lot about the strength of the two year old division this year when Zoffany, Ballydoyle's best two year old, is 20/1 for the Guineas.

Ballydoyle may still have some cards up their sleeves. They still have a dozen unraced Galileo colts, including some potentially fast types like Amen, Diogenes and Last Crusade, and two who may appear at the Curragh on Sunday, Quest For Peace and Moons of Jupiter. An interesting Footstepsinthesand colt, Ruling, may also run at the Curragh on Sunday. On the Derby side, they have some staying Galileos to appear, like Sam Lord's Castle, Apache and Regent Street, and there are also several unraced Montjeu colts. It's worth pointing out that their two Derby winning colts made very late debuts.

Frankel heads 12 six-day acceptors for the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket.
Henry Cecil's charge faces a mouthwatering clash with Middle Park winner Dream Ahead and Godolphin's Champagne Stakes hero Saamidd.
Aidan O'Brien has a strong numerical entry with Master Of The Hounds, Oracle, Roderic O'Connor and Seville still entered.
Jim Bolger's highly-rated Glor Na Mara could also represent Ireland while Elzaam, Native Khan, Waiter's Dream and Zaidan complete the acceptors.

Agree.

Ground should continue to dry all week so now may be the time to take the 5s each way about Saamidd, a great bet, especially if Dream Ahead doesn't turn up.

Champions Day is looking terrific.

A 15 runner Champion - well we can forget that in future

The Middle Park, Champagne, National and Royal Lodge winners clashing - well we can forget that too

The QEII winner coming on for the Champion - forget that too

Exactly.

Pity the spineless Racing Post won't make a point and campaign about this.

So terrific that only the winner of of one of the 7 races there has a chance of being declared the champion in their specific discipline.

Well unless you abolish the Arc meeting and the Breeders Cup do not expect much improvement next year.

What, as in mess about with the pattern, and if it doesn't go well, maybe return things to how they were?

These guys are almost funny.

No think it's mess about with the pattern and if it doesn't go so well we'll mess about with it some more.

Starting with moving the St. Leger to Ascot and the July Cup there too.

Don't know why they don't just close all the other racecourses and run every Group One over a seven day period at Ascot to be honest.

Really cement a much needed champions week and people would go and watch it too as Ascot's such a lovely track and all....
