The Gordy Elliott Horror Picture Show

Well the Elliott photo happened at least a year ago and has been training away freely up until this week....

Sent from my SM-J415FN using Tapatalk

Yeah......and the ‘industry’ knew nothing of its existence until 72hrs ago; since when he’s been placed under investigation by the Irish authorities, and banned from having runners in the UK.

Remember when our main issue this time of year was when we wondered if Willie was going to switch Monkfish to the Gold Cup and Royal Pagaille to the RSA last minute...[emoji85][emoji2962]

The only thing Gordon Elliot hasn't apparantly done, which would have worked the oracle for him, would be a), to negotiate with the leaker, stump up a sizeable sum to have the photo handed back over to him, (like something straight out of a Hollywood film).

Or B) Pay a sum to an assassin and have the leaker shot.

Or C), Top himself.

:)

Had to happen. If something bad had happened to him in the race it would have been the end for the National. What a sorry mess this all is.

Is it not an offence to publish a picture without the subject's consent?

If that was the case there would'nt be any such thing as the media or social media. He literally posed for the picture. The person that leaked it from my understanding of the law has absolutely no case to answer - whether they have a moral case to answer is an entirely different question.

I know this is tongue in cheek Marb but it is not funny and in particular C). The mans world has litteraly crumbled and it would appear that people he considered friends have played a part (not as big a part as he did himself but nonetheless a part), how would you feel if he did take his own life?

Oh stop it.

I'm not suggesting he top himself.

Who gave you a license on humour or comedy.

If some of the videos are true, with what I’m reading, racing could be suspended.

Animal cruelty amongst other things. RUMOURED to be a video coming of Gordon using a cattle prod on Supreme winner Labaik.

Calm the **** down

I think he is making a very important point. No one will be happy until Elliot is destroyed.

I think we all recognise that it was intended to be humorous, Marb, but no doubt Elliott thought posing for that picture was humorous too.

The comment is ill-thought and ill-judged on your part.

Fortunately it won't cost you your livelihood.

Or even membership of the forum.

You won't even get a slap on the wrist for it but other forumites are entitled to offer a measured opinion on it.

We think you've made a mistake, something we're [nearly] all guilty of doing now and again.

I'm as guilty as anyone of telling sick jokes, almost exclusively in private, so I'm in no position to take a 'holier than thou' approach but even I was shocked at your post.

Edit - just noticed Slim's reply. I agree there is a point to be made about this being a serious attempt to destroy Elliott.

Yes I did mean in that abstract, non literal sense, Slim.

Perhaps a bit too abstract.

In our modern day world, of mass movement, judgement and condemnation, what it would take for some people to let go of their anger... etc.

Yes I lost my best friend to suicide.

I didn't mean the post in the way you and DO have interpreted it.

Please see my above post.

Could be that the guy who took the photo, upgraded his phone and sold the old one without deleting the stored photo's. Someone put them up naively or with ill intent.

It is not illegal to take photo's of people in public places, but it is if the proprietor's of some establishments state so, "No photo's". Most racecourses take exception to people snapping clients...

"Blake was good on the Betfair podcast. Basically illustrating that Irish people who work in rural areas see the horse as a working beast whereas a lot of the hand ringers on Twitter see them almost as pets. Bit of a disconnect there."

This was something that occurred to me but I was reluctant to air the view. Think it's much better that it has been said by a native of that fair country.

Yes, and it falls in line with the comment I attributed to Ruby Walsh from an interview a few years back, that horses are not humans.

Quilixios to Willie's. Envoi, Sir Gerhard, Ballyadam De Bromhead.

I'm depressed.

Samcro 28s on Betfair.

Gigginstown horses going for a walk in the market. Tritonic new fav for the Triumph

When we used to go racing in Ireland years ago I did get the impression that people were far less sentimental about the horses. Which doesn’t mean to say that they were any less cared for/looked after.
