The King George

Cue Card finished strongest in the Betfair. Why there are any questions around his stamina and not regarding Dynaste is surprising. Its quite remarkable the similarities between Grands Crus and Dynaste. Cant see the reasons why anything behind in the Betfair will turn tables. 4/1 is at least a point too big.

Good to hear Joe Tizzard will stick to inside rail this year if he can.
It promises to be one of the many great King Georges and there have been many !
What chances something doing a Nupsala ? Or a 1997 Sea More Business ?

I would like to know how anyone can be certain about cue cards stamina when there is no evidence to the contrary either way.

I sincerely hope he wins because he's just a stand out exciting horse. Haydock was one of thaoe runs that really made hairs stand up on neck. you dont have to define sta quality but you know it when you see it

Also as with the tingle creek, prizes to smaller stables have to be welcomed.

That feltham stat ec is a silly one really isn't it? I mean ...what logic is there to that. Absolutely none

the logic is simple really Clive..the Feltham asks for stamina at an early stage in a chasers career..suggesting that when the winner progresses he will want an even stiffer test..the one that has won is Long Run...and what does he need?

Joe Lively + Darkness + Maximise other classic examples

you seem very sure of the silliness of what is suggested..but give little thought to what you are questioning sometimes..you silly boy;)

I suspect Long Run must still be burning up the gallops. He's been very heavily touted twice this season despite failing to produce the goods on the track. I don't imagine there would be any reason to have 'hidden' him for this but for the National definitely and another moderate run will bring his mark down yet again.

The other concern is that they tried him in cheekpieces and are now going for a visor, suggesting they don't know why he isn't producing his home work on the course. Maybe he's just had one hard Gold Cup too many.

Well, the first thing you think of when the King George comes up is multiple winners so Feltham winners, despite having the plus of winning over c/d, oftentimes are meeting animals who have the same liking for Kempton.

I'd also look at the Feltham's roll of honour. It aint great.

s conti quite an odd selection from pricewise. usually goes for something bigger. thought he might have plumped for menorah. hope he's right anyway.

market currently showing nobody has any real confidence in the first four. it's a wide open renewal and a few of the outsiders shouldn't be dismissed either.

Until the Gold Cup SC hadn't really run in a top notch Grade 1. Yeah he'd won the Betfair Chase but Long Run needed the race that day and the race lacked substance beyond those two. The last three times he's run he's been found out imo and is a bad price. Pricewise is generally clueless outside Handicaps.

well he fell in the gold cup so i think it's harsh to hold that against him, his jumping is usually very sound. he was going ok that day up until that point.

aintree he could well have been OTT or lacking confidence after his fall so i wouldn't be too disappointed about that one either.

agree he has to find a fair bit from the betfair chase but i think this race in the conditions will be a different kind of test and might just suit him nicely.

to be clear i wouldn't back him at his current price. had a bit at 8/1 antepost and then e/w at 6/1 the other day.

This has the feeling of a race where everyone expects great things and then afterwards those who don't like the result **** all over the form.

While it looks competitive, it's no classic. Unless something wins by a street I wouldn't be looking at a clear gold Cup contender coming out of this race.

Al Ferof is the one I'm interested in as I feel he's by far better suited to Cheltenham and good ground. What ever he does today, I think he will be 8-10lbs better in the gc.

As things stand its Silviniaco Conti for me.
Cue Card to set it up for him.

Can't really go with that ec. Its overanalysing.

Euro. That's true but just the way its panned out. If the nichols one tuns well and fulfils trainers beief in him I'm hardly going to diss him beause it was the feltham he won.

Meeting roddy in an hour and hopefully going to be in paddock.

Tizzards chasers are performing like they usually do in december....3rd intention ran poor there..beaten race before with a well fancied one as well.....any concern for cue card?

didn't win though and was fancied

Bit harsh that. Just beaten as an 11/2 shot. Third Intention beat the hot favorite and after the first races, on that ground, I expect to see CC go like Annacotty and wire the field
