Does anybody have an opinion on the ride for Wonder Laish trained by Charles Byrnes in the 2.00L? Drifted heavily in the ring and found a lot of trouble in running. Coincidentally his well backed stable mate won the race.
I wouldn't necessarily rush to that conclusion.
The trainer said after the race that the horse has only just come right in the last couple of weeks and that the step up in trip helped him.
The handicapper might take things at face value and raise the Lanzarote principals again for standing in their boxes.
Or he might not.
As someone who has backed Solomon Grey for The Coral Cup, I'll take every little form boost I can, thanks.
He is entered at Ascot over 2M3.5F this Saturday. Distance-wise that might make him more likely for the Martin Pipe, but he will go up in the weights for The Festival if he won. Hence I reckon a mark anywhere in the 140's would make him more likely to run in The Coral Cup. See if racing resumes. All if's and buts at the moment.
I also wonder if he’ll end up in the Martin Pipe rather than the Coral Cup.
I half-suspect a potential non-trier today could be Angels Breath.
We'll see how it pans out.
