The Road To The 2018 Champion Chase

they'll probably wait to the very last minute and see what the ground does with regards to UDS/Min.

would forgive him today. pulled too hard and jumping not the best.

Maybe!!! You guys are assuming the Politologue is only winning because others don't turn up yet PN thought it fit to take on Altior before he pulled out.

Not saying you guys are wrong but you are assuming PN's horse to follow has not improved as much as he thinks he had

One of these day the Min fans on here will realise he's really not that good.
Min is being judge by too many on his run in the Supreme which is near meaningless apart from proving Altior was in a different league and Buveur was out for experience as has improved 2 stone since then

The incident deserved a ban..shocking riding

PS I should add I am a huge PT fan but you have to call it as you see it

The RP Novice he won on Boxing Day last year reads very well now.

If he brought Douvan back now there would be up roar, especially he we saw him in the Champion Chase.

As John McEnroe would say "You can not be serious"

The second wasn't even a match for Ball D'Arc and you can't seriously be talking Road to Respect who has improved fully 2 stone since then.

He's just been beaten by Simply Ned who was absolutely no match for Fox Norton, Sprinter Douvan or Special Tiara......that has got to be worrying if anyone is thinking Cheltenham

Would anyone stick UDS back over this? Would he have a chance? Would he even beat Min?

I personally would, and of no Douvan he's the best chance WPM has of winning this race for me.

Altior hasn't come close to meeting anything as good as UDS and if anyone says Fox Norton again, who was bigger than Billy Bunter when they met, I have a gun in my booty and I will use it:lol:

I do like Politologue because he's tough as nails but I would rather not bet than bet against Altior because no way will WPM send Ryanair winner UDS.

Still takiing sh*it when it comes to Altior, eh Tanlic?

He also cuffed Special Tiara (the Champion Chaser) at Sandown in a common canter.

Queue cries of “He was over the top/not trying/fatter than Fox Norton/I’m clinically insane”.

For a Henderson groupie, your staunch opposition to Altior is very surprising; especially seeing as it is apparently built around nothing more than making excuses for every top horse he has beaten.

PS. UDS would get murdered by Altior over 2m on Festival ground.

I am being realistic. Altior has beat nothing of note NOTHING!!!!!!!!!

Special Tiara hasn't put 2 good runs together in years and the QMCC was a moderate non event.

Fox Norton and of the rest of the first 6 they have all been stuffed since

Fox Norton is supposed to be a fast 2 miler who was totally outclassed before halfway in the KG.

There's been nothing around to give Altior a race just a bunch of leftovers from Sprinter's day.

I would actually consider running the likes of Footpad in the QMVV and let Sceau Royal handle the Arkle

You never let me down, pal.

Altior is good enough to win a Champion Hurdle, based on BDA’s exploits. Not only does he go through his novice season unbeaten, he actually wins two open Grade 1’s in the process, beating other open Grade 1 winners in the process.....but has beaten nothing of note, according to you.

Have a word with yourself, ya fanny!

Be good to see Waiting Patiently run against UDS but if he doesn't (and probably even if he does) that has the makings of another odds on stroll in what was once a great handicap.

Was thinking exactly the same thing, Lee.

If this was a handicap, it would be an intriguing event. As it is, it is a sh*it-fest which is destined to cut-up to about four-runners.

As I recall, it was Victor Chandler who wanted ‘his’ race to be a WFA event, and the BHA adjusted the conditions as a result. Now that Victor is no longer in the picture, race-planners should be giving serious consideration to making this once-great race a handicap again.
