The Two Mile Chasers

Djelo improved his initial rating by 20lbs last season.

This season he's improved another 13lbs, to a mark of 160.

The handicapper hasn't even raised him again yet for yesterday.

Granted, It could be another Mullins demolition job like Allaho several years ago, but Djelo is not totally out of it, for an each way punt.

Considering how badly he has run this year -albeit his AF recurred on his first run I am not quite sure why I fancy Captain Guinness sneaking in to the frame . Cheltenham record is excellent though . I think he was coming to win the Supreme when Asterion Forlobge took a number of horses out .

Poignant. I thought he was bound to win two out but Quilixios was still leading at the last - not sure what O’Keeffe was doing . Good to see albeit remotely Captain Guinness justified my ew hopes .

Watching this again baffled they did not go on with Solness ? Also as eyes were drawn to Libberty Hunter’s fall I did not notice what a bad mistake Captain Guinness made at the third last - the old boy might have been a good bit closer otherwise.

DOK gave Quilixios mixed messages coming to the last and I think caused his fall.

The first five furlongs were over-fast. Solness would have checked out earlier if he'd gone ahead of that pace.

MN's finishing speed was pedestrian at 25mph and the efficiency rating for the five finishers were E E F F F.

It was a very unsatisfactory race beyond the poignancy.

It's now a windy looking division and with Sir Gino heading the market for next year's QM at a short price and with Majborough and Maine Nationale following him in the list I think it's a race to take an initial position in. I thought L'eau du Sord travelled like the best horse in the race last Tuesday but Skelton started rowing away as soon as Majborough made that mistake at the second last, he could have held onto him for longer IMO and I think he's worth a small go at 33s.

I agree about the market.
LDS is a strong traveller but looked a place lay. The one that looked could go with Majborough the longest but pay the price.
Skelton had no choice here however. He's approached knowing he would have to commit as Majborough would have. He's already half committed when Majborough made the mistake. His hand was then played.

Majborough would have won 10 lengths with a clean round.

They will do well to get SG back to track listening to Nicky

Jonbon lost his race, or Nick lost it for him when Solness backed into him at the fence inspection pre race.
He has the Montjeu factor in spades so don't write him off either as he has loads of ability.
Hopefully he Is one of the Nicky horses who comes to Punchestown
