The Two Mile Chasers

Dear Granger and Edgt which planet are you two on?
He's an absolute certainty to be heading for the Gold Cup
and the 2 Mile Champion Chase is the furthest thing formhis mind
He hasn;t run over 2 miles since beaten in a bumper by A dream to Share
Now there's a horse who will be winning soon you can have for free :0)
no "absolute certainties" in this game

You are around long enough to know this

And you won't find a single post where I said he will run in the QM

Well I suppose if Jonbon is going Aintree Sandown its worth a try . Is Marine Nationale expected to run ?

Not sure having him eyes out over 2 miles is a smart move if they see him as a Gold Cup horse. He's already a fairly keen sort and a doubtful stayer, not sure this is ideal.
Clearly if he bolts up then they have a decision to make!

He'll end up back in the Ryanair anyway!

The Majborough looking like a bit of a dog jumping may mean he moves up to 2m + next season also, freeing up a spot in the 2m

It is hard to believe a horse is truly top class over min, mid and staying trips

I think seeing him over 2 will be a great spectatcle

Desert Orchid managed it.
And even he couldn't win both the Irish National and the Champion Chase ( 2nd to Pearlyman ) let alone do it in the same season like Flyingbolt.
The only footage I have seen of Flyingbolt is of him splashing up the hill at Cheltenham to win the Massey Ferguson ( or Mackeson ) and his third place in the Champion Hurdle the day after winning the Champion Chase. Racing would have been cancelled in similar conditions now, and horses aren't allowed to run twice at the Cheltenham Festival any longer.

Flyingbolt wouldn't have got the Gold Cup trip against Arkle in a horse box
He only won the IGN because he was never out of his comfort zone.
Tom Dreaper only ran him twice beyond 2m5f Ken Oliver never ran him over 3m Roddy Armatage 3m twice failed to stay at Kempton in The KG against Titus Oats and tailed off at Ascot

By "top class" and for the court of public record

Winning a grade 1 championship open race
