The Two Mile Chasers

He's been running at 3m and more. It's one thing dropping back to middle distances and showing more pace than other middle-distance horses. Up against specialist two-milers he'd have been miles behind at halfway.

Even if they're only going one mile an hour faster over two miles that's 20 lengths per mile covered.

Well his two best were at intermediate trips

I'm sure I read Willie saying they'd think about stepping him back up in trip again in the future.

How do we think Il Est Francais would have got on in the 2 miler?

I found Willie Mullins's chat with Matt Chapman on ITV Racing after the Ryanair Chase and he said that Fact To File would probably be a Gold Cup horse next year. " JP didn't want him to have a real hard race in the Gold Cup this year. Some times that can ruin a horse's career. " Was he thinking of Might Bite?

Majborough, Fact to File and Iknowwhatyourthinkin.

Can't see why JP would want to be meddling with trips, etc, unless something goes amiss with one of them leave them as.

Has JP ever had such a plethora of high class horses at the one time. Majborough, Fact to File, Inothewayurthinkin, Jonbon, The New Lion, I am Maximus, Iroko, Spillanes Tower etc.

No, and there was a time when people were remarking the opposite, ie how few decent horses he had among the hundreds that he owned.

Or Sir Des Chanp, Bravemansgame. I imagine there's a few more.

He's still won Gold Cups, Grand Nationals, Champion Hurdles, etc.

Is there any big race he hasn't won?
He has indeed, I didn't mean to suggest otherwise. but the general quality of his herd has improved has risen compared with say ten years ago. He was always one to step in and buy horses that make impressive debuts but I get the impression he does more of that than before.

He mentioned in an interview last week that there are still four races at the Festival that he hasn't yet won, but I don't know which ones they are.

I’d guess the Mares Hurdle and Mares Novice besides the QMCC and Arkle which have been mentioned above
