If something goes wrong on Sunday (not likely I know) he could get into the County with about 11 stone. 25/1. Hedge opportunity?

It would be a massive ask to win both. He'd need 20lbs in hand. Not impossible but 25/1 for the County does not appeal.

It's a hundred-grand race in Ireland, is well worth winning in its own right, and I don't reckon it's merely a sighter to get handicapped for the Betfair.

A mark of 137 is potentially low enough to win in Leopardstown, without completely torpedoing his chance at Newbury.....but logic dictates that the Leopardstown race is likely to be the primary target.

If he wins on Sunday there isn't a cat in hells chance of him turning up at Newbury. Whoever wins will be going straight to Cheltenham for the Coral Cup for that 100k bonus.

The only question to ask about Kalkir right not is will Ruby ride it. Everything else is academic.

From Walsh's RUK column.....

"You’ve got to be looking for something that is unexposed. Buiseness Sivola and Kalkir are running off their four-year-old marks and maybe one of them might have improved."

Ricou rides. That's not the two fingers to Kalkir backers from Ruby that's a fisting.

Can't help thinking this is because of the market move.

Well, at least you dropped enough hints in the last few days to suggest something like this was in the offing. I managed to lay off a bit of my stake yesterday so losses will be reduced (assuming Kalkir doesn't win) and manged to get on BS at 14/1. I haven't done any ratings yet (am just about to start them) but there's every chance now that BS will halve in price and I can lay off again then and concentrate on whatever my findings guide me towards.

After the RUK interview I knew we were fucked. He wasn't amused someone was telling him what he was riding.

Given jockey bookings for this back Kalkir for the County Hurdle. I'll predict he'll finish somewhere between 3rd and 8th and then win or go very close at the Festival.

I only jumped on ew at the 14s . . . . but I've already had significantly more value from it, since Slim put it up, than from most of my own shite selections . . . . . .

. . . . . . . and it hasn't even run yet !

.

Have faith you lot. They didn't get enough on at 8s and need him back there again. Then a stone bruise for BS on Sunday morning and Bobs your mother's brother.

I'd like to say a big thanks whatever happens at the weekend Slim. Your advice re. Kalkir has been first class, perfectly timed, and very profitable.

Here here. Thanks also for highlighting when to get out as well. Now lets not all jump on Kalkir for the County in case Ruby refuses to ride him out of spite.

Ruby is most famous for his County Hurdle switcharoo on Sporazene after they declared top weight Rigmarole (with Ruby down to ride) to keep the weights compressed.
