TV coverage

Cannot recommend interview with Steve Smith Eccles on Luck On Sunday enough.
Some character.
Pity he did not relay the story about one of his final rides at Festival.
His car sponsor had a corporate marquee at Festival and Steve, with no booked ride, was the guest of honour.
He arrived first and made full use of the free bar .
Anyways Supreme Novice with 24 or so runners had a pile up at the second last with four or five jockeys stood down.
Next race, The Arkle had 18 or so runners so riders were scarce .
Steve's agent got him a spare ride on an outsider, so a very drunk Steve bidded his guests adieu to take his mount.
Down to the first he was sharing the lead when the inevitable happened, horse never took off and Steve was sent into orbit, landing not too from the marquee where he was guest.
The sponsor, afraid he had killed his jockey ran to his assistance.
" Are you okay Steve?", he asked before inquiring as to what happened at the fence.
" What fence ?!" was the reply.
Virgin 2 TV had Paul Carberry's Festival playback during the week.
Harchibald played a starring role; his County Hurdle defeat off 10-1 must have cost some Meath punters farms of land.
