What are you backing Today? Part 2

They’re on the mobile app for free at the moment. Suspect this is a temporary thing as they’ve recently updated the app

Been waiting for this one to run again.

Point in the right direction and go if ever there was one :) I'm delighted with the 2.48 to 2.1 I got.

SPIRIT D'AUNOU First 5 Star ***** in along time.

Egbert the 1:30 at Ludlow is highly thought of and is still learning according to reports. He has had two previous runs over hurdles and solid enough to make him the form horse here. He is opposed by an odds-on (“mouthwatering prospect” - Henderson) in Impose Toi who should win if anything approaching the hype. I think he’s worth opposing, though, since it’s his debut hurdle run and I doubt he’ll be given a hard time if push comes to shove. I’ve had a cover bet - money back 2nd - on Egbert who has two other options to run in on Saturday, but has been steered to this one.

Egberts 5/2 into 5/6
Impose too 4/7 out to 9/4

Fire Dancer (general 6/4) - Ludlow 14:00

Never really went on for the genius Guillaume Macaire in France, but beat Capadanno in his maiden juvenile hurdle, and was beaten favourite behind Galopin Des Champs in his second outing. Was placed twice in 4 runs over fences in France.

Has had two years off and a wind op. Returns today in novice handicap chase for Venetia/Ricci and runs off 114.

Can't win going by the market.

Well done BJ ,Tan and Grassy. 3 nice winners.

Charlie Deutsch almost f**ked up there like he did yesterday.:ninja:

There is a horse called Gaius and there is also a horse called Gaius that runs in Ireland.how is that allowed.

One probably is IRE bred and has (IRE) after it’s name as it will have been registered in Ireland as opposed to the UK or USA (or anywhere else). It’s why Galileo ran in a hurdle race at Cheltenham!

Yes Jinny one is GB and one is FB..it doesnt say that on sporting life but I found it on racing tv.
The irish one is French bred and can win again.

Well done indeed.

Three interests for me tomorrow, small stakes, it is January afterall.

Wincanton

2.05 Desque De L'Isle (NAP) - I said my piece about this horse on the anti-post thread. I reckon this can complete the three timer tomorrow. The horse is in really good form and the handicap rating of 119 is still a winnable one for Desque De L'Isle.

Sandown

1.50 I reckon the handicapper has Frero Banbou for the time being. I would want him on a mark in the low 130s before I could be confident he would win. I'd rather have Donald Mccains runner, Dreams Of Home at double digit prices. He could improve again as he has been doing. I quite fancy him to go close.

3.00 A stab in the dark on Kauto Riko E/W at a huge price. An inconsistent type with bits of really good form including a second to Two For Gold last season. As I mentioned him and talked about him with DO a few weeks ago I best not abandon him. I am sure he is overpriced but whether this actually transpires in the race remains to be seen.

Speaking of the ground at Sandown, I'm quite happy to see this from Kauto Riko's trainer in the Racing Post.

Tom Gretton, trainer of Kauto Riko

"The blinkers are back on to focus his mind. He wants three miles nowadays, retains lots of ability, and any further rain will suit him. He's best fresh and ticks a lot of the boxes."

It's forecast to bucket down at Sandown, tomorrow.

Very good news for my Frero Banbou bet. I've topped up this evening and he should be hard to beat. I was a bit harsh on Grey Diamond in the ante-post thread as the two horses who beat him fto have both proved they were very well handicapped at the time but I can't Sandown's stiff finish suiting him on deep ground.

I've taken the 5/2 Tamhuras for the Tolworth.
Put away for this after dotting up at Haydock, he'll love the ground and is PN's sole runner at the meeting.

I'm also with Tamhuras and Paul Nichols (It's Saturday) for the Tolworth took 11/4 WH and 3/1 BFE less deduction I get NO BOG

Too many entered look the same but PN is such a brilliant trainer I have to go with him.
