What are you backing Today? Part 2

Well done indeed.

Three interests for me tomorrow, small stakes, it is January afterall.

Wincanton

2.05 Desque De L'Isle (NAP) - I said my piece about this horse on the anti-post thread. I reckon this can complete the three timer tomorrow. The horse is in really good form and the handicap rating of 119 is still a winnable one for Desque De L'Isle.

Sandown

1.50 I reckon the handicapper has Frero Banbou for the time being. I would want him on a mark in the low 130s before I could be confident he would win. I'd rather have Donald Mccains runner, Dreams Of Home at double digit prices. He could improve again as he has been doing. I quite fancy him to go close.

3.00 A stab in the dark on Kauto Riko E/W at a huge price. An inconsistent type with bits of really good form including a second to Two For Gold last season. As I mentioned him and talked about him with DO a few weeks ago I best not abandon him. I am sure he is overpriced but whether this actually transpires in the race remains to be seen.

I've done the each way patent. I couldn't see myself doing that when Desque De L'Isle was 15/8.

Fingers crossed I can get something right today.

St Xavier and Up Helly Aa King beat The Three Amigos last time out so I’ve backed them both. Kinneston seem to have horses that go back to my old favourite Terimon and I’d love them to win a race like this but it’s a race to savour.

I've taken the 5/2 Tamhuras for the Tolworth.
Put away for this after dotting up at Haydock, he'll love the ground and is PN's sole runner at the meeting.

Nice shout. Followed you in there but having kittens over the last two

He's going to make a bloody good chaser. He's a big baby - on the snaff all the way and he's just ended up in front miles too soon.

The classic '**** race' lot are out in force on Twitter because the two hyped horses without any actual form in the book have been beat up by a Nicholls horse. They never change.

I'm not on Twitter but could they have a point?

In my summary of the race - this is the complete summary - I wrote:

The average ‘Card RPR’ for the winner of this race in the last five years is 151 so this could be a very modest renewal, so much so that it’s put me off getting involved.
Clearly AB and AS haven't run their race and 'my' two outsiders were still there two out so it may still be true that the race is substandard. The 'Card RPR' for the winner was only 142, so 9lbs off average going into the race.

The Mares beginners chase at Naas tomorrow is interesting. Tellmesomethinggirl should win but I've had a little on Brides Hill at 7s. She was behind Henry's horse at Thurles but was never put in the race and I liked her run behind Journey with Me last time out. Obviously beating the fav will be hard like I said but there is a glimmer there, esp with some of the stable running the odd bad race and the 5/2 second choice in the market, Instit, was keen lto, didn't jump well and is an unlikely stayer. She's that price wholly on trainer identity.

Motawaafeq 1.00S
Close up in similar C/D race 2 ago sfter pulling like a train. Blinds back on today, for the 1st time since he last won in them.
ew 4pl 11/1 888bet

Keeping it simple (through bone-idleness, as much as anything else).

Telmesonethinggirl/Grangeclare West double.

I like that bet and don't understand why both aren't shorter. Brides Hill is a NR in the Mares race now so I'd have Tellme.. odds on and I have stamina concerns about Irish Point so don't really get why GW is 6/4. I was actually thinking IP might be a bet for the Supreme with Hills NRNB.

An intriguing Grade 1 Novic Hurdle at Naas today. WPM V Gordon Elliott ...Townend V Jackie Boy

Actually Iam confused why WPM is favourite as he'srun in one of those on you go we will wait here hurdles full of non triers.

Unbeaten will get the trip but for me stepped up to 2m4f Irish Saint 4/1 to 3/1 on BFE on all known evidence looks head and shoulders above the unbeaten WPM Fav.

Done a double with Grangeclare West and Monbeg Genius at Chepstow

One for tomorrow before I forget.

Uttoxeter

11.55 Hurricane Harvey is rated 5lbs lower over hurdles than fences. He was held up out the back the last day at Cheltenham but ran on really well for 8th place. The weight won't stop him tomorrow and his course form at Uttoxeter boosts my confidence. If his jockey can keep him in a reasonable race position for the early and middle part of the race and I'm hopeful he can, this horse is the one with a bit of class in this race. I'm hoping for 5 or 6s which would be a fair price to take.

Bloody hell. I didn't see this one was running in a class 3 at Ludlow last Friday. Went in at 6s aswell!

He's obviously on some sort of a winning mark. I wonder now will he win again before the handicapper can catch up with him.

I backed it Marb but I just realised I backed it by mistake.i got it confused with hurricane highway. Lol

Jammy fella you. Well done.

It could take another run or two before the handicapper catches up with Hurricane Harvey I reckon, Outsider.

Lanzarote Hurdle entries will be made tomorrow. He has some good form as a novice over 2M5F at Kempton when third behind Mcfabulous off a mark of 131 in March 2020. Mcfabulous went on to win Grade 2 hurdles after that win.

Lets see tomorrow eh...
