Don't know if it's been mentioned on here or anywhere else but in the Betfair Hurdle my main bet is on Tellherthename 10/1, taken this afternoon. I suspect this one will halve in price by the race.
If memory serves, Nicholls had a couple of entries which he took out at the 5-day stage. Cobden has been booked for the selection, which I take as a positive. Off 135 here, the horse holds entries in both the Supreme and Ballymore and the trainer seems very keen on taking in the former. I presume that means he rates the horse at least 145. Several recent winners have got in here off modest marks and taken in one of the two big novice hurdles at the festival and I think Zarkandar even took in the Champion Hurdle.
I took 10s because the 12s showing at Ladbrokes/Coral weren't available with the market being suspended. I'd presumed when it came back on the price would have been cut. When I checked again a moment ago the 12s were back up and 5 places being offered so I've gone in again, each-way this time, to the same money then went into the other bookies and cashed out the earlier bet for the full stake back. I even got the 12s boosted to 13/1
I was tempted with him and probably should have (possibly will) considering its now NRNB stage but I didn’t on the basis I expect him to be withdrawn due to the forecast heavy ground.
Pauling following his last win:-
“We are back on track. We turned a lot of stones to try and find out what happened at Aintree. We found a few little bits and bobs, but nothing that put us out for that long as you could see. I was just keen to get his season back on track before we dwelt on it for too long. The ground there was soft enough, and it is not the good to soft that they have advertised, but TELLHERTHENAME has handled it very well. He is an unbelievably class horse. That now gives him his fourth run so he has got the option of the Betfair Hurdle, but the ground would have to be spot on for that otherwise we will go straight to the Supreme with him. I think he is a class horse with gears galore and I sometimes think they are best fresh. They go such a gallop in that race (Supreme) and if you are anything but absolutely ready for the day then you might get flat footed - Ben Pauling, trainer.
