I'm taking an interest in the 1.35 at Bangor on Saturday.
I thought Thunder Rock had the back-class to be competative in hurdles this season, but he's not been on it, and he's a bit short for me in the betting, even though he's dropped in the ratings and now switched into a handicap.
The Four Sixes drops massively in trip after he tryed to blow the field away last time over 3 miles. There was a brief discussion on the forum that day, as to whether the jockey went too soon. I'm not sure if it made a huge difference, as he stopped so quickly. I just have a little reservation as to whether I want to back him on Saturday.
West To The Bridge is a solid yardstick on his day and should run his race, but I think he'll likely bump into one or two better handicapped horses.
Which brings me to my selection, Willaston. He's dropping down the ratings. He's got some quite decent back form, including a win at Cheltenham, when I thought he won nicely, beating Bold Endeavour, who was a good yardstick a season or two ago.
Willaston has ran a couple of nice races this season, showing enough to make me think he still retains his ability. So I will take a chance, especially at the prices. Hopefully his more than capable trainer can get him right again
