What are you backing Today?

Gone for two John Ferguson horses today, as think there's value in the prices of his chasers.

Got 6's on Qewy (1:35 Kem) and 8's on Father Edward (2:20 Lud).

I think The Clock Leary is a good worthy favourite in 2:45 at Ludlow for Venetia.

More hope than expectation but see what happens.

Degooch's (Font 1:10) last win came after a six month lay off, so don't be put off by his recent absence.
His best performance was on the soft at Sedgefield.
He should like cut in the ground at Fontwell tomorrow.

Worth a bet in my book.

African Gold (2:45 Newbury) opened at 20/1 yesterday evening. Now as short as 13/2.

Was originally sick I missed the 20's but relieved now I got 14's.

Classy animal in his day, peak of form when 2nd in the Albert Bartlett to At Fishers Cross in '13. Faded quite badly over 2m 3f last time out. Over further today I can only assume by the strength in the market he's stripped a lot fitter today. I seen STD put him up as 1 to follow a few weeks ago.

Beast of burden to put on a big show today, super jumping until unseating the last day, will have learned from mistake.

An interesting couple of day's for the Pipe team. Quite a few horses running that ran 2 weeks ago at Cheltenham. Possibly weren't seeing out their races, maybe needed the run.

Monetaire, Un Temps Pour Tout, Dell Arca and Champers on Ice all out.

Niceonefrankie (2.40 Nb) dotted up in the 'Massey Ferguson' last year, but missed the season from January with a badly gashed leg. Up just 3lbs in a race his trainer has targetted, and has won first time-up in the past 2 seasons. Soft ground no problem and general 11/2 looks generous.

Newbury

1.30. Sykes 4/1
3.15. Ten Sixty ew 6/1
3.45. Wait For Me 11/8

Just switched on in time to see him pulled up - marvellous!:(

I don't think I've ever posted on this thread so I'm probably a bit mad putting up a 50/1 chance. I do however like the look of Dare To Endeavour who is the outsider of the field in the Beecher Chase. Clearly I'm not confident he wins but I reckon he's a fair old each way bet at the price.

He's been unlucky the last twice in Ireland in both the Munster and Kerry Nationals being hampered badly in both, and the handicapper has given him a bit of relief. It was only March this year when he was just beaten by Anay Turge giving him 2lbs's over an inadequate trip at Sandown, and Anay Turge has won twice since and gone up 15 lb's in the process, whereas Dare To Endeavour has gone down 4 lb's since to mark lower than when he was winning good novice handicap chases. He also won off a mark 3 lb's higher than his current mark when he beat Digger's horse Un Guet Appens at Perth in April the previous year, which I'm sure Digger will tell you would be good enough to win The National itself.

It's hard to pick out well handicapped horses in the race that will enjoy both the trip and testing ground, but he looks as though he potentially could be. He also only has to carry 10st 2lb so he's getting plenty of weight from the fancied horses. He does have the National fences in the way though and he needs to improve on his recent form. At 50/1 I'm prepared to take a chance than McNamara hasn't brought him over for a day out and thinks likewise that he's a well handicapped horse.

3.35 Sandown Leo Luna
I'm happy to take a chance at 20/1 that this fella will stay particularly given Gary Moore's form this season

Paul ,you are the king of the long shot , I have it in a e/way L15 you have made this afternoon very interesting

cheers

Well done with that one, Maruco. :)

I think Dolatulu will win another nice race at some point, Fonz.
The race he won at Wetherby last season (Rowland Meyrick) on Boxing Day could and should be the next logical step. I'd fancy him for that, even off a higher mark.

No harm done on Dolatulu Martin, skybet money back offer for placed horses in that race, well done on SDG too !

Thanks Geoff.

Chavoy tomorrow at Kelso (1:40) - will love the going...and is a heavy ground specialist. Having won over long distances before he should stay the four miles all day. The first time visors can do the trick after an uninspiring comeback run. I think he will go really well.

Lovely selection Maruco, very nice price!

I'll be dissapointed if old favourite Clockmaker doesn't win the 1st at Wolver, Keniry sensibly didn't try to take on Seychelloise lto but was running on well at the end after blasting off much too quickly on previous run. If Keniry sets the right fractions here(should lead) think he'll hold on. Doesn't look much in the race to me.

Ptit Zig is stuck-on in the Peterborough Chase today.

PS. Bold shout yesterday, Paul - unlucky.

I've been waiting all week for him but yesterday put me off
Apart from Vicenzo Mio, Nicholls team all ran stinkers yesterday as if there was something amiss
I couldn't be backing him at this moment in time.
