5:00 Lingfield Estibdaad - Tongue tie on today, a Course & distance winner, who is 10 pound better off with Fast And Hot for his second at Kempton in October. Money for Estibdaad in the betting aswell.

Well backed into 10's or 12's earlier.... now out to 25/1. The market has made a right mug of me..

Fast And Hot now well backed! See what happens.

Saturday finished in a small profit when Gayebury ran out a comfortable winner at Chepstow.

Today's Selections:

2.55 - Wolverhampton - Miracle Garden. 3 pts win. Available at 3/1.
We supported Miracle Garden when he finished behind some of these last Thursday (23rd). He was beaten just over four lengths into eighth of the eleven runners but ran better than the bare result suggests. Hampered leaving the stalls he continually found his path blocked when trying to make his move in the straight before finishing with running to spare. He had plenty of C/D form in the early months of last year and his current mark of 74 looks one he can exploit. The only small concern is the apparent lack of pace in the race; a tactical affair wouldn't be any good to a horse who is normally held up off the gallop.

3.05 - Plumpton - Kayflin. 1 pt win. Available at 10/1.
Kayflin is of limited ability and it took her 21 starts to shed her maiden status on her penultimate start. That came over this C/D but she couldn't repeat it from a nine pound higher mark at Leicester last time out. She is not one to rely on but if there are a set of conditions to bring out the best in her then it's soft/heavy ground on this track, In five previous races she has returned form figures of 4/7, 2/8, PU, 2/6, 1/12. She is not well handicapped but conditions like these are a great leveler and the opposition are not up to much. She's no good thing but at a double figure price in a seven runner field she looks worth a small win consideration.

3.35 - Plumpton - Rathealy. 0.5 pts e/w. Available at 28/1.
Rathealy doesn't seem up to much nowadays and he was thrashed on his debut for new connections last time out at Doncaster. However his record on heavy ground reads 121 with one his victories coming over two miles here back in Feb. 2015. His last two wins have come in Sellers, and it's been a long time since he performed well in handicap company, but he could lead here and that could bring about a better performance than his odds might suggest. He could handle the conditions better than some of his opposition and looks worth a small e/w wager.

3.45 - Ayr - Nakadam. 2 pts win. Available at 9/2.

3.55 - Wolverhampton:
Russian Soul. 1.5 pts win. Available at 15/2.
Upavon. 1 pt e/w. Available at 12/1.

2.10 - Leicester:
D'Nailor. 1 pt win. Available at 8/1.
Heavenly Promise. 1 pt e/w. Available at 16/1.
Irish Point winner, Rude And Crude, makes his debut over fences under rules and, judging on some of his hurdles form, he could be leniently treated. He goes straight into handicaps for a new yard who are not only in form but do well with their Chasers. Ardmayle is another Irish Point winner making his debut over fences under rules. He ran well in two starts over hurdles and looks fairly treated judged on those efforts. In common with Rude And Crude he is likely to improve for going over fences and is respected. Point winner, Brice Canyon, has run well on all three starts over fences under rules and that experience may hold him in good stead against the shorter priced market principals. D'Nailor was pulled up on his second start over fences but was found to have bled post race and can be excused that effort. He is of interest on his second place on his Chasing debut at Lingfield prior to that and he runs from the same mark today. The presence of Sean Quinlan here for his only ride of the day is interesting considering the yard send their only other entry, Aengus, to Catterick. He is a short priced favourite to follow up his last win at Wetherby under the aforementioned Sean Quinlan. At the prices it may also be worth considering Heavenly Promise. He makes his Chasing/Handicap debut from a lowly mark and produced his best effort over hurdles on heavy ground. He has his stamina to prove but he is related to some useful staying Chasers and he could prove a better proposition over fences. He is the only entry for a yard who have a profitable 21% strike rate with their Chasers in handicaps in recent seasons and are 3 from 4 with their horses over fences here in the same period.

3.20 - Catterick - Cactus Valley. 1 pt win. Available at 16/1.
Nomoreblackjack and Fields Of Glory come into this race on the back of career best efforts and have the potential to carry on improving. They may be difficult to beat but at a much bigger price a small win consideration on Cactus Valley may be worthwhile. He is not bred for fences but he ran a promising race on his Chase debut in a Novice event over this C/D last time out. He faced much higher rated rivals there and showed enough to suggest he could make his presence felt at this level. His mark of 106 isn't prohibitive and he represents the only entry of a yard in red hot form. There doesn't appear to be a lot of pace in this race and that could play to the strengths of an ex flat horse.

1.50 - Doncaster - Glimpse Of Gold. 2 pts win. Available at 9/2.
Not many of these have achieved much to date but there are some who are open to improvement now they enter handicap company and a few who have shown promise already in this sphere. Of the former group Monfass makes some appeal but it's two from the latter group who are preferred. Bletchley Park arguably has the best form on offer but he has a long absence to overcome and the ground may be a bit softer than he cares for so Glimpse Of Gold heads the short-list. He was pulled up when last seen in December but that came in heavy ground and he may be seen to better effect on this less taxing surface. After running out on his handicap debut over hurdles he was subsequently beaten seventeen lengths or more in three starts. That may not seem form to make him of much interest but he is now eleven pounds lower in the weights and his form over an extended 19 furlongs at Hereford on his penultimate start looks solid in the context of this race, despite the distance he was beaten. The winner has since won from a seven pound higher mark, the second has been successful twice (once from 12 pounds higher) and the fourth has been placed twice and was a comfortable winner yesterday. Glimpse Of Gold runs from a two pound lower mark than he did at Hereford, Richard Johnson returns to the saddle and the yard are in decent form. On a negative note the Trainer has yet to have a winner at the track from 33 previous entries in recent seasons.

3.50 - Newbury - Kilcullen Flem. 2 pts win. Available at 6/1.
Behind The Wire and Beggars Cross come into the race on the back of career best efforts over fences and they are both lightly raced and open to improvement. Pink Gin has been in good form over hurdles and, although he is making his debut over fences late in the day, he is lightly raced for a nine year old and hails from a yard who have few peers in preparing Chasers. Zerachiel showed promise on his Chasing debut and he could build on that from a three pound lower mark. He swaps cheekpieces for blinkers and his yard have a good strike rate with their Chasers in Handicaps. Preference, however, is for Kilcullen Flame who produced his first piece of worthwhile form when winning for the first time in five starts over fences at Bangor in January. He had to wait until his mark had fallen fourteen pounds before striking but his new rating, up six pounds, is still attractive judged on his best form over hurdles. Both his victories have come at Bangor, so he has to prove he can do it elsewhere, but he ran well here over hurdles this time last year and his first win over the bigger obstacles could give him the confidence to go onto better things. There looks likely to be a generous pace and that will suit a horse who stays further. Jonathon Moore, whose worth every one of the three pounds he claims, returns to the saddle.

4.20 - Newbury - Quarenta. 3 pts win. Available at 4/1. (Nap)
Most of these are open to further improvement and preference is for the least exposed runner in the field, Quarenta. He has improved with each of his three starts over hurdles and there are reasons to think that he may be well treated on an initial mark of 116. That optimism stems from his effort last time out over 19 furlongs at Taunton where he finished fourth of the ten runners, beaten just over eight lengths. The winner, Air Horse One, has since won an Ascot Handicap from a mark of 132 and the second subsequently won a Taunton handicap easily from a mark of 131. The third has yet to run again but he was rated 136 and holds a Cheltenham entry. Quarenta travelled well through the race and the Assessor could've been much harsher in allocating him his mark. The Taunton race was on good ground but his Dam has produced a Mare that went well in testing conditions and there is plenty of soft ground form on her side of the family. His Sire has produced a number of top class NH horses and many of them reveled in soft/heavy going. There is also plenty of stamina in the breeding so the step up in trip could also illicit further improvement.

4.55 - Newbury - Cadoudoff. 1.5 pts win. Available at 15/2.

5.05 - Doncaster - McVicar. 1.5 pts win. Available at 9/1.
