What are you backing Today?

Indeed well done Cato. Apologies about Copper Knight it just didn't happen at all today with him. I will be back

I've got good cash on Isomer (4:05) and Denmead (5:35) I think they are both good chances. Only two wins will satisfy me after the earlier disappointment. Need my funds boosted lol.

At least my tracker horses Computable, Ingleby Hollow and also Dakota Gold are declared on Saturday. That's Marbles weekend Trixie already sorted.

I think he's too short. Looks less than straightforward and is this ideal less than 2 weeks after the Guineas.

I'm chancing James Cook who was much better than the bare result at Epsom and should come on heaps for the run and I quite like Mildenburger as well.

Also gone for Turret Rocks who has optimum conditions today, which is rare in her career so far. Front two don't set that high a standard and 8s is too big

My account was hacked this morning. This nonsense wasn't me:whistle:

Only 2nd (14/1)! Why did you get me to back that thing?
One reasonably strong fancy today is Quench Dolly for me in Newbury's 2:35 on the television. This is a game handicapper. He's picked up about half a dozen races in career thus far. I don't think the handicapper knows what to do with him or.is near getting to him yet, in fact he's dropped him a few pound for a couple of below par efforts which suits fine. His win at Goodwood last season was excellent when putting away future winners Maakaasib, Intense Romance and Poets Society by some distance. The Racing Post rightly says his very best form is on soft going, as was Goodwood that day, but he's won on better going too, and like a few versatille horses I think there's every chance he may act on both types of ground. He is 12/1 or thereabouts. I would suggest were he from a more fashionable or bigger yard he'd be halve that price!

Cheers. I definitely don't understand how Poets Vanity is shorter in the betting than Quench Dolly. The latter beat the former 7 lengths at Goodwood and is 3 pound better off too. See what happens I guess!

Mistake. I'm getting Poets Vanity and Poets Society confused. Quench Dolly beat Poets Society who happens to run at Newmarket today.

From my blog...

COPPER KNIGHT TO BANG UP BOOKIES

Jack Berry handicap Thursday. York 2:20. I had to reassess this race after my original fancy, Dakota Gold, was taken out but I've found an even better candidate in Tim Easterby's Copper Knight. Formerly with Hugo Palmer, Copper Knight came good at this exact period of time in May last season, picking up two races including a 30k handicap at this track. He is certainly a talented sprint handicapper, with a fair rating of 96. I don't they will catch this horse tomorrow. The 10/1 is a price worth having a decent punt on.

Dont think they tried to be honest.there was a still frame on sportinng life and every jockey was in a drive finish except copper knights jockey.
Bigger race in view.

Well, lets hope there's no stopping Tim Easterby's Computable tomorrow at Thirsk!

From my blog; 'horses to follow list'.

Thirsk 3:20

1. COMPUTABLE. Trained by Tim Easterby, he struck me as a horse who improved for being gelded, which he showed when a respectable third at Thirsk last time. He travelled powerfully that day, like a horse who would improve for the run, and if he cannot improve on that rating of 76 this season, I will pack the game in. He's entered at Thirsk on Saturday, where he seems to have his handicap mark unchanged.

Another tracker...

Doncaster 5:50

3. INGLEBY HOLLOW caught my eye when second to a mare called (4) PRETTY JEWEL at The Lincoln Meeting at Doncaster, on ground that was too soft for Ingleby Hollow. Pretty Jewel has franked the form and a mare to follow, (preferably with cut in the ground), while Ingleby Hollow has won subsequently and entered at Doncaster this Saturday. Ingleby Hollow would have every chance of winning again if the ground is on good side.

I think Count Octave looks a decent e/w play in the Yorkshire Cup. On the face of it, no wins on turf may be a concern but his form whilst not winning is strong - 2nd to Stradivarius in the Queens Vase on GtF at RA followed that with another 2nd behind Call to Mind at Goodwood on good. I'm playing Octave as he should be fit to run today and there are signs of the Balding yard returning to form. Stradivarius could well pish up but I'll take a chance on the fitter Count.

DUKHAN, 15:00 Newbury. 10/1

First time cheek pieces, if they work & settle him down from previous starts, still holds a Derby entry (Unlikely to go, but gives you an idea how well thought of it is) Palmer having a good past 14 days 7/27 & Frankie hitting similar form 7/28. Stouts MEKONG is worth a look at too as his record in this race is 12 runners 3 winners & 7 places.

Both drifting a little in the market, but will make the e/w angle more profitable. I will do a small stake RF just in case.

As usual I forgot why I don't post. :(

Auteuil 3.55
Coquin Mans looks decent value here at 16/1. This fella has looked better over longer distances to me and certainly wasn’t stopping when winning at Fairyhouse. In the process of hacking up at Clonmel before Xmas when unfortunately slipped up. James Revely looks an interesting booking with his experience of riding here

I don't think I have backed a winner since Ripp Orf in Victoria Cup! The highs and lows, the highs and lows! Anyways, i've found three backable horses today for the tipping competition, so will put them in a patent. Towcester 3:25 Rasasee. ( Unexposed hurdler, can do better now in handicap company). 3:55 No Buts. (I fancy this to run a good race today with new visors on). Carlisle 3:45 Destroyer (a nice horse who can run well first time out to exploit a fair rating).
