What are you backing Today?

If fitted my 'stepping up from handicap to listed company system', which doesn't always work, (see Thank you Next), but occasionally it does.

I think that's debatable. The ground's very deep now and he was beaten in a Group 3 on Haydock heavy a couple of years back when 2/1.

Yes he ran ok at Ascot on soft but plenty of good ground horses act there since the track was relayed. Benbatl is likely to be pulled now. I think Century Dream has a favs chance.
Easy peasy Euro. well done:surrender:

Just watched the replay. Won under hands as well. I don’t back at those odds typically but if fit and firing today it has to win?

Not today, glad the ground put me off, but I think it was more the fit and firing bit. The writing was on the wall as the market drifted so I hope you held off.

Impressor 2.25G was a good 2yo, finishing a close 3rd in last season's heavy ground Horris Hill after making most and weakening in the 7th furlong; hasn't shown much in 2 races this year but chased a overly strong pacemaker latest (far side, sft ground)where they both finished out with the washing, which should see him strip fitter today. Solid ew bet, imo.

I’ve backed Return Ticket in the 2.05 at Perth. 12/1ew with 8 runners is a fantastic price for a horse I fancy quite strongly.

The form of his Novice Chases at Catterick and Kempton are eye-catching, where both times he was beaten by two horses I really like. He’s since switched yards from Ruth Jefferson to Becky Menzies, and his seasonal debut last week looked like a tune up for this. Good to soft at a flat track over two miles is precisely what he wants.

It’s rare to see one of my tracker horses out so early, and my comments were flat track, goor or good to soft, 2 miles only. Mark workable up to 140-142. He’s currently rated 132 so I’ve had a fairly good dip at him today at 12/1.

It looked like a barge pole job of a race for me so you've talked me into it, you silver-tongued devil.

I've also doubled it with Red Giant in the 3.15 which I liked at 28/1 yesterday but held off and missed the price. Ended up taking 14/1 which has gone too. The double will make up for the disappointment

Breathtaking Look is short for the Meautry at Deauville. She set the pace in the Hungerford and on the face of it did well to finish second but the race collapsed behind her and I'm happy to take her on with Wanaway who acts on very soft and has one or two nice bits of form.

Why not. I’m in too Maurice.

I’m in on Return Ticket also. I’m of the view the jolly got an easy enough lead last time and was flattered by the margin he got beaten. The form of the Catteriick and Kempton runs looks way better than anything else on offer

Every chance but giving 16lb + the rider’s 3lb claim was just too much. Shame the value of the favourites form wasn’t tested

Place at worst always looked on through the last mile and a couple of tidier jumps might have made a difference. Returns also cover the double with Red Giant so happy enough so far.

You’ve both said it here, conceding 19lbs to the winner, and a couple of scruffy jumps were the difference. A better jump somewhere would maybe have reversed the result.

The place was worth it though, and fingers crossed for yours now Maurice. A win for him and also the place double would be quite a nice day.

Let's hope I don't have the same kind of luck as Chairmanoftheboard.

I'm still fizzing at the starter. If I could see 400 miles away on TV that the horse was on its hind legs why couldn't the starter standing right next to it?!

Convinced D'bai's last run was no more than a sighter, and expect him to reap the benefit in the Supreme Stakes today.

Unfortunately Red Giant spat the dummy after getting a reminder early on

That was disappointing. The reminder at halfway was ominous. He's probably not up to chasing a fast pace. Maybe he just had an off day but it's galling when the other ratings work out well:

I let the jockey put me off Soupy Soups and assumed the Badger Ales would be the target hence RG didn't have much to beat. Sorry, Maruco.

Surprised you took on Breathtaking Look, Euro.

She seems to have won well. Maybe the heavy ground just stops other horses from showing their turn of foot.

I wonder where they'll run Breathtaking Look next.
