What are you watching

big deal..quality (at the time)Clive..wish they would re run them

sometimes it doesn't work out..when i were younger i absolutely loved Callan,,but when watched one a year or two ago...oh dear..its so hammy

some programmes can still have it..i still like the avengers with Diana Rigg..and my fav all time from when i were younger..man in a suitcase,,richard bradford was brilliant in that..for the time

Strange isn't it? Was rightly a big hit at the time. Must be contractual or something

avengers was so uniquely stylish that it will always be enjoyable. I liked it but of the old stuff the Sweeney stands up best for me. Best cop series of them all by miles

If you didn’t catch the first series of True Detective, that could be an option. I thought it was very well done.

The second series was completely different and I didn’t enjoy it as much.

Am currently watching Breakijg bad on netfilx ******* addicted...a must watch

Must start on series 2 after being addicted to series 1; I think Game of Thrones got in the way, having had 4 series to catch up on in one go....

Really didn't enjoy Breaking Bad - made it through season 1 and the first few episodes of season 2 before calling the Emperors New Clothes on it.

On the other hand - didn't catch The Sopranos first time round, but have bought the box set and am thoroughly enjoying it.

Season 1 of Dexter awaits my viewing pleasure as well.

Also recently gave a fair attempt to The Blacklist, but it didn't float my boat at all.

I recently tuned in to a new documentary series on the Vietnam War produced by Ken Burns. Pure excellent. See it on Netflix.

The first season of Dexter is brilliant. Went downhill after that though ( IMO)

It was indeed "pure excellent". There are 2 versions - the one which aired on BBC4 about a year ago - 10 x 1 hr episodes and an uncut version - 10 x 2 hr episodes which I caught on PBS America.

Both were tremendous.

I've watched most of the Burns documentaries over the years and find them enthralling. It started off with a one off documentary about the Donner party who, after getting stuck in the Sierra Nevada in winter resorted to cannibalism. It worried me how fascinated I was by the programme until I realised how they draw you into the subject matter. I sometimes rewatch their 'American Civil War' and 'The West'. I haven't see the one about the Jazz Age, though, and missed most of the Vietnam War one. They are, imo, the best documentary makers of all time. It's amazing how 'alive' they make a documentary with just old photos and letters.

Honourable mentions for series I have downloaded and watched recently. Gomorra, The Looming Tower, The Terror, Condor, Counterpart, Killing Eve. Currently stuck into / yet to start Billions ( series 3 ), Power, Quantico, The Leftovers, Salvation.
