When will racing resume?

This is far too pessimistic. The WHO are already calling for 1 meter social distancing. By the time September comes it will be virus, what virus.

I hope your right

I shall have a double Hydroxychloroqunie and Tonic on the rocks to celebrate if you are right:ninja:

I think that's far too optimistic.

The reality will probably be somewhere in between.

However, it does look like 'the science' is improving and they're learning more all the time about how the virus behaves. Dr John Campbell is saying the researchers in South Korea are concluding that people who have had the virus will remain immune to it for a long time, possibly more than two years.

Brant Dunshea, the BHA's chief regulatory officer, has publicly expressed what appeared to be total confidence that racing will be allowed to resume on June 1 and suggested the government has recognised its unique circumstances compared to other sports.
Earlier this month, the government confirmed professional sport, even behind closed doors, could not be staged until the beginning of June at the earliest in line with its easing of lockdown restrictions.
"I'm incredibly confident," Dunshea told Luck on Sunday.
"We cannot control the government's decision-making but we've been working continuously to make sure we're in a strong position. We're very excited and positive we'll be ready to go from June 1."

In today's video he suggested that we will eradicate this virus just as we did with Smallpox, SARS and MERS. Maybe not tomorrow or next week, but it's out there.

SARS wasn't eradicated it burnt out which exactly what is happening to this virus.

Only quoting what the doc said.

We're already looking at more than 50,000 more deaths than expected for the time of year, which is probably closer to the true impact of this virus. It has a long way to go before we're shot of it, not helped by dreadful early failings by the government.

The whole government should have would have could have argument is of no use to anyone. Things are going top open up in the next two month and all the doom and gloomers will be shocked that people will go back about their lives like the virus never happened.

We have a guy who walks past our gate every day and sometimes stops to chat and he’s a former scientist. He said at the start of the pandemic, that this would happen almost to the day. It gets weaker and weaker. Wonder how much the hot weather is contributing to its demise too?

0 deaths and only 59 new cases in Ireland today. We are very close to being out of this. The scaremongering about a second wave is based on nothing.

100% agree. The scaremongering from most of the mainstream media has been disgraceful. If some newspapers go under after this then it's probably no bad thing.

Surely a situation in which there are nearly 55,000 more deaths than the 5-year average for the same timespan is what's disgraceful and worthy of constantly reminding people to be very careful.

A lesser known horse entered in Newcastle's 1:30 on Monday is Global Spirit.

Formerly with Ed Dunlop. I remember him from a race last year. I reckon he is on a very good handicap rating of 77 for Roger Fell to exploit.

Definately watch out for him on Monday.
