World Hurdle 2016

Joe Tizzard said on ML they've been schooling him over fences in the school (so will be showjump style pole jumps rather than brush, probably) and he jumps well.

Joe seemed pretty definite that Thistlecrack would go chasing next season.

Seems as if sponsorship of the World Hurdle is for one year. Check out the new bonus too for winning this and The Iroquois in America

Nichols Canyon and Shaneshill have arrived in Nashville to tackle the first leg this weekend, may be time to take an ante post view for Cheltenham on one or both in case they win this weekend.

Ruby Walsh is set to partner Nichols Canyon with Danny Mullins taking the ride on Shaneshill

Mullins felt the race may have been one step too far for his runners, but is already eyeing a shot at the Iroquois Hurdle again in 2017.

"Nichols Canyon did not jump that well and maybe wasn't best suited by going left-handed, while Shaneshill ran a big race," he said.
"However, for both horses this was probably one race too many, but we look forward to returning next year. I was absolutely delighted with the efforts of the course staff who made the ground just right."

So has WPM ever mentioned going left handed with Nicholls Canyon might be a problem before ?

no one but Mullins thinks NC is a stayer. He beat Faugheen ffs in a slowly run 2 mile race, he has loads of speed at the end. His best is over 2 miles, take the last mistake in the CH and Annie's 7lb allowance and he would've been champion. Trying to make him a stayer is a stupid idea.

Add the Iroquois to that Ed, particularly the 11th fence where he veered alarmingly to the right and never regained the lead afterwards.
Judge for yourself -- the National Steeplechase Association has overnight released their official video of the meeting at Nashville.

(You need to scroll L to R across the bottom of the screen to get to the "Calvin Houghland Iroquois" -- and click on that). :)

Ricko, I don't undersrtand whats this all about but as far as I know the horse hasn't won it yet :-) A losing bet is just that. Btw this just shows how Mullins gang operate vs the rest of the honest trainers. When someone like Tizzard says he's going to do something or he's unsure of it, then thats how it is. When Mullins says it, its wasting time listening or reading what he says. Mullins might as well say his secret for winning the novice hurdles at the festival was to take them on Jupiter to train them as the astral planetary Neptune is helping in their preparations. Mullins talk is non-sense, 100% of the time.

So all in all, you took a gamble but its not like you took a huge risk going with your money after what someone like Mullins PUBLICLY announces. Whatever happened to Faugheen investigation I wonder? Those rotten thieves that are leaking info from the yard and take advantage financially should be in jail by now or liable for a huge fine. Racing is a disgrace by still not taking actions against those that leak info to bookies, information that is not public knowledge. You make it public knowledge by any means. Mullins has a RP column, he even has a twitter account. Once a decision or something happens, the public needs to be informed, not giving the chance for inside info to be traded and make us lose on the other side. Crooks..

From next year it will be back to the Stayers Hurdle and sponsored by Sun Bets. I don’t have an account with them yet & hate Murdoch, but would be lovely to take a few £££ of them
